Man am I glad I didn't make Kylie sit on Santa's lap the day we saw him! Apparently just getting near the jolly old man did some damage. One of Kylie's favorite people in the world is her Uncle Adam's dad, Mickey. Mickey shared corn on the cob with her and taught her the sign for rain on her dedication day, let her fly a kite at the beach, and always shares food with her. But Mickey (like Mr. Claus) has white hair and a beard...
Sunday Adam's parents were in town and had lunch with us. When Kylie woke up from her nap she was pleased to see Ann, but the mere sight of Mickey brought tears! She practically crawled up my body and buried her face in my neck mumbling about Santa. We kept reassuring her and showing her a picture of Mickey that she's familiar with to help her realize who was in the room. Finally she seemed to get the point that it was indeed her beloved friend Mickey at the dinner table and not Good Ole (scary) St. Nick

I LOVE it!!! Precious video...that Darby had to see a handful of times before moving on;-)
I don't get the boiled peanut thing either. It's like eating a finger!
poor Mickey.. being compared to Santa when Santa is NOT liked. I'm sure he was concerned about his little friend being afraid of him. So glad everything worked out in the end.
YUK to eating boiled peanuts!
I'm just sayin'...I love boiled peanuts.
One day here at my office, Kylie saw a picture that I have of all of our family that includes Ann and Mickey. She looked at the picture and said (with shrugged shoulders) he "naw sana caus". Then I'd ask her who it was and she would say "Mi Mi". I'm just wondering when she will learn to like the big man in the red suit.

that was so funny. Since when is reminding kids of Santa worked as a disadvantage? Good thing he stopped and got those boiled peaunts!
Aunt Traci
