I say it to her every day, multiple times a day, but I just have to share it with as many folks as will listen that I LOVE Ky!
She's got a spunky little personality and as style that is all her own. Her heart must take up 95% of her body. Her mind is a sponge and she recalls the craziest details from as far back as over a year ago. And one other fun thing? This gal loves, I mean LOVES, to sing!
And my favorite part of her love of singing is what she loves singing. Yeah, she enjoys a good round of "Tooty Ta" and "Twinkle, Twinkle" and who doesn't love belting out a "Silly Song with Larry" from Veggie Tales, but Kylie's CD of choice? It's a toss up between Share the Well by Caedmon's Call and Cedarmont's Worship for Kids ~ Volume 1.
I'm not sure exactly how she learned it, but she can sing all of Here I am to Worship. EVERY word! (She actually has them all right and I do have to admit that I take a somewhat sinful pride in that fact). I need to get this on video before I miss her sweet, innocent, childish voice singing it and I regret that I missed it.
And then there are the ones that make me giggle to myself as I listen. The words that she doesn't have quite right just yet...
Like in Open the Eyes of my Heart, she asks every time the song plays, "Why do they say 'To see you high and did up?'" And every time either Ian or I explain that it actually says "lifted up," not "did up." Then two minutes later when the chorus comes back on she says, "Mommy, why does it say did up?" Every time!
Or in You Are Holy she sings, "You are holy, You are mighty, You are wordy..."
Or when she hears He Reigns she asks, "Why do they say glory, glory Hallelujah he rains? I don't like rain that much."
And there is the previously noted Step by Step error where she sings, "O God, you are my God, and I will never praise you... And step by step you leave me, and I will follow you all of my days..."
Oh, and while it isn't on this CD, I noted on Facebook the other day that she was walking around the house singing, "Father Abraham, had many sins, and many sins had Father Abraham..."
So she may not have all the words down yet ~ it comes straight from her heart. And I love that she loves her God!
With the smiles I get from Kylie's singing, I have to ask ~ what is the cutest or funniest lyric mistake you are hearing around your house these days?
**Post on a fun character trait about the little boy whose smile completely stole my heart coming soon!

Oh my gosh, those mistakes are priceless! I'm sure Allison is making her share of mistakes, but usually she's the one telling me, "No, Mom! They're saying..." :)
Oh, Kylie's lyrics have just brought a smile to my face!
I can so feel what you! Lindsey was singing "Mighty to Save" the other day. Though the words were not correct in some places, knowing she was singing it warmed my heart. And Emily's favorite song is "He Knows My Name".
My kids are still totally hooked on tobyMac. They're getting the words right and are now asking exactly what the meaning of the words are. Another step forward in their maturity...
Please get Kylie recorded. We will want to remember that sweet little voice. Kylie, I like your outfit. You certainly have your own taste in clothing and colors.
Grandma loves you,
So cute...she sounds like Mr. Neil getting the lyrics wrong! Katie was walking around singing "...where the deer and the cantaloupe grow" the other day. she takes after Neil too!
Um, so maybe I shouldn't post Caroline singing every word to "The Climb" and every other High School Musical and Hannah Montana song...we really DO listen to Christian music, but the big girls love to sing those songs with her.
o my goodness. That is so precious. You have to record her. I am glad that she loves to sing praises to her Father. Out of the mouth of babes!!
That is hilarious!!!!!! Well, our funniest "mistake" is not a song with Adiah. She loves to point and grunt if she wants something so I don't give it to her until she has used her words. So the other day she wanted a CUP. I said "Adiah, what is it? Say CUP". Weeellll....it didn't come out like cup. I'll just leave it at that and you can probably guess what she said that made me gasp.
Aww! Sweet, sweet Kylie! It will be very fun to hear Noah singing/talking one day!
Just today Makenna was singing the new song by Casting crowns she really just hums along. I love it.
I love it! I guess the funniest thing is that the Tongginator loves to sing along with Shawn McDonald (also a Christian singer), but she calls him "Old McDonald." Hee hee.
We just bought a microphone just like that for the start of Matthew's auditory training after they activate his implant - so I am hoping and praying that I will let you know in the next few months the funniest things I am hearing come out of his mouth soon:) Kylie is truly so precious!
You better get that on video! It is so precious. It makes me want to cry! Kylie has such a sweet spirit!
