My little leprechauns are shouting birthday wishes to Ian's mom here, but you can go ahead and pretend that they are wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day if you wish...
This picture was taken just after the disappointment of only getting an answering machine at Grandma's house, Kylie refused to leave a message, so we'll try again after nap time!
A fun follow up to yesterday's Play-doh incident (by the way, it's been miserably cool with grey, raining skies since late Wednesday afternoon last week, we had to do something to alleviate the boredom of being stuck inside!)...
So we were running "just a few minutes behind" (new story of my life, somehow two kids gets me lost in a time vortex) to get out the door to life group last night. I had the kids ready and was brushing their teeth as we waited for Ian to get home. The phone rang, and without thought to Play-doh in the hair earlier, I ran out of the bathroom to answer it, leaving a mischievous three year old and her imitating king two year old brother alone. Half a minute later I return. That's thirty seconds folks, all it took for Kylie to (thankfully) pull her shoes and tights back off and walk in and back out of Maya's water dish. As for the imitating king, well, he got the part about standing in the water dish, but missed the memo about taking off shoes and socks. And he was wearing long jeans. There he stood with soaking wet feet, shoes, socks and pants. It's a good thing he's got that winning smile...
You'd think I'd learn. Needless to say, we were on the "tardy side of punctual" to life group last night. (Thankfully the other family with kids was getting out of their car as we pulled in the driveway...)
And finally, today was Kylie's three year checkup. I knew that my girl was queen of creating high water fashion out of pants that fit her perfectly the previous season, but I didn't realize that she has grown EIGHT and 3/4 inches since March of 2007. Wowzers! Today she weighed in at 34.5 pounds and stood tall at 38 3/4 inches. Dr. H complimented her on her speech, manners and (in his words) a "perfectly proportioned" body size.

8 and 3/4's inches in one year! Wow, I'm impressed - she surely is healthy. Too bad Caleb didn't get the part about taking off his shoes and socks. I can just see your expression, Kristi. They look so cute sitting on the porch with their feet bare.
Love you,
Wow, she really has grown!! I can relate...hardly any of Abby's jeans are reaching her shoes these days. We just put another shirt in the Kylie pile.
I think I can see the look on your face too when you saw Caleb's wet shoes. :)
I think Kathy is working today--we're supposed to meet her and your mom for dinner tonight to celebrate.
Thank you Kylie and Caleb for your birthday wishes. I'm sorry I wasn't home - had to volunteer today. Wish I could give you all hugs and kisses. I love you.
Love, Grandma Miller
Sorry about the water bowl episode, BUT, that was funny!
By the way I made chicken and noodles today for our weekly lunch with Grandpa on Thurs. ( made it today as the trash goes tomorrow so I can get rid of the bones!) Can you make it?
Love Aunt Nancy
8 3/4 inches ? ! WOW.. Maddy did 6 inches her first year home and I thought that was amazing. Everyone around here thinks she is so tall but I'm not seeing it. I haven't measured her height in some time, perhaps I should go do that. :0)
8 and 3/4 inches MUST be some sort of record!
I'm sure their grandma loved the birthday wishes!
That is funny. What is it about water bowls? I remeber a time when I was keeping Alexander while he was about 18 months. I turned my back for a few seconds to throw a ball for Captain (the dog) when I turned back Alexander was standing in the water bowl bending over trying to drink it! Yuck!...
So I guess it could be worse at least they weren't trying to consume it! :)
Aunt Cici
WOW!!!!! 8.75 inches? That's crazy and awesome!!!
I think LeighAnna's feet are growing at the same rate at Kylie's body! She now wears a size 11! Everytime I see a picture of Caleb, I want to get me a boy! He's just too cute! And don't worry, I'm perpetually late now with two kids. I know it will end some day. It's just a phase, right?!
