Just a Monday

**Before you check out today's pictures, if you didn't stop by yesterday, please be sure to check out last night's post on how to help Chinese orphans for FREE!**

Nothing too exciting here today. Well, unless you count the "incident" just before we left to go to the post office. The kids were fully dressed (including shoes and socks ~ this is suddenly reminding me of the Backyard Beach Party post ~ you'd think I'd learn or something...) and I just finished helping them brush their teeth. They were drinking water out of their cool name cups and I decided to get their coats, hats, scarves, & mittens out of the closet to be ready to head outdoors. I should have stayed right there, but I noticed that Kylie's milk cup from breakfast was out on the table and figured I'd put it into the fridge so it didn't go to waste. I stepped away from the bathroom for what couldn't have been more than one minute. Suddenly I noticed that there were crazy amounts of mischievous laughter coming from the bathroom so I go (read RUN) the 15 steps from the kitchen to the hall bathroom to see what was going on. Well, they had used the step stool to climb up on the counter (Kylie must have helped her brother, he just isn't tall enough to do it on his own) and were sitting on the vanity with their feet in the sink. Someone must have decided they didn't have enough water and had turned the faucet back on. Someone else must have stepped on the sink stopper thingy when they put their feet in. The sink was overflowing, they were up to their knees in water, rivers of water were running across the floor and they were both sitting there laughing hysterically. I wish now I had taken a picture before I pulled them out of the sink, let the drain go, and thrown a towel on the floor to start cleaning up the mess because now (about 11 hours later) it really is funny! Then when their tennis shoes, socks and pants were soaking wet, not so much...

But it was just water. So anyway, after the post office, lunch and early naps, I decided that while it was cold, we needed to get outside. Off to the park we went. They started walking their babies in the strollers, but I told them ahead of time that when we got to the first road I was going to make them get into the stroller. They've been there so many times, but each time they find joy in the simple things. We should all take lessons!

Yes, Caleb carries around a pink baby. If he had been the first child I guess we would have bought him one dressed in blue if he showed interest. But being a second child, he gets one of his sister's dolls...
She's finally getting strong enough to actually move sand around with this digger. Alex was a good teacher back in October when he taught her how!
"I just saw Kylie climb up this thing ~ how did she do that?"
Can you hear her as she's trying to fix her scarf saying, "Wait for me Kay-ub!"
He still doesn't quite get the "Go!" thing...
I just love her expression that seems to say, "Where are you? I won't wait forever!"
The end!

I would have loved to have seen them playing in the sink. That's really funny.

Ok - 1st I must just say -- you can only imagine the things that can happen in a bathroom while your back is turned.. I've had Anne Marie and the little girl I babysit make a "buble-bath" with a stopped up sink & the handsoap. I've had them use a paintbrush & "paint" each other's hair (with water - thankgoodness!!) And just plain old dunk the handtowels in the sink. We now have a rule - NO ONE gets to go to the bathroom by themselves anymore!!!!!!! (haa - but like you said - at least it's just water!) And I love that last picture - she looks like she's having a blast & he looks like he's wondering how she got him into that?!?!

Haha - I needed a really good laugh this morning and I can only imagine the two of them deep in water having the time of their lives!!!That is a great story and one you will remember for a very long time!!!! The park looked like a lot of fun too - must not be too cold, that is a blessing!!!

Water is a great thing to play with! Our kids love to splash and turn our bathroom into water park. However...this reminds me of the time when Cam was 18 months old (he's now 11) went upstairs ALONE (which he had never done) and found my large tub of VASELINE. Don't ask my I had in my bedroom, because now I don't remember. Anyways...he had put it all over himself, all over my bedroom wall and my duvet. We laugh about it now, and well, I laughed then seeing him all greased up. I didn't laugh having to buy a new duvet... :-)

I feel your pain! I do!
I know how things suddenly turn funny, but not until much later ;)
At least it was just water!
Enjoy your week!
