My cup overflows

Every day I wake up knowing that I love my children. Yes, I say children because I have two ~ one just doesn't live in our home yet. We are at day 47 into our wait for Caleb's official RA (referral acceptance). I watch Waiting Child yahoo groups to monitor how long it is taking RAs to arrive these days. Some are as short as 60ish days, some pass 100 days. When we receive our RA, we can send our son a care package (and post his picture on this blog ~ believe me, it will be worth your wait ~ he is ADORABLE) and then we wait for our TA (travel authorization) to purchase plane tickets. Our best guess right now is that we (and by we I mean all three of us) will go to meet him in the October/November time frame. I would grab a toothbrush and be on the next flight to Beijing if I thought I could bring him home...

Anyway, as I said, I wake up each day knowing that I love my children. Even when Kylie is being stubborn and independent (her new favorite saying is "I dooh it my by self!") she is a wonder to watch. And her obstinate streak is always closely followed by something that makes my heart melt. Like the other day when she insisted on me pouring the water I had just gotten for her out of the cup so she could do it, but then took off her shoes and lined them up just so "wif Mommy Daddy shoos." Call me crazy, but that simple gesture touched me...

We long for the day that we are home together as a family of four. This uncertain amount of time to wait now that we have a picture of our son has the potential to make me crazy! So for now we focus on today because each day is a gift from God. As anxiously as we await holding both of our children in our arms, we have a daughter here with us now and time with her is simply too precious to waste!

I remember how agonizing it was to wait for Kylie. Now we are blessed with having her with us while we wait for Caleb. The wait is still hard but her presence is such a joy. What a blessing she is.

Come on Caleb. Mommy, Daddy and Kylie are READY!
At least, you do have Kylie to "distract" you from the wait this time.

Caleb, we are praying and waiting. Know that God is having you loved and nurtured until Mommy, Daddy and Kylie get there for you.
What a great picture of the three of you.
