Why aren't there any red tomatoes on my plant?

Oh, that's right, I have a toddler!

It has been hot ~ and by hot, I mean HOT ~ in NC for about three weeks now. I also happen to be Mama to the world's sweatiest toddler, so that means we are in a pool or air conditioning during the prime sun hours. Last week one evening I decided to let Kylie out on the back deck to get some fresh air during twilight when it was a bit cooler. I turned my back on her for one minute (I was going for the camera so that I could try to get some close-up shots) and when I came back the little imp was ravaging my tomato plant.

"I can almost reach these last two red ones, then I'll try green!"
Her face showed that green tomatoes were not popular...

"Who me eat all your red tomatoes? No, I think Maya had some too!"
Yeah right kiddo, you've got the tomato juice on your chin to prove it!

She never ceases to amaze me with what she wants to eat! Yesterday I had the pantry door open and she started pointing (by waving her finger ~ it is so cute!) at one of the shelves and signing "eat" with her other hand. I figured it was the puffs she wanted, so I grabbed the container and started to shut the door. She kept pointing, this time while grunting so I opened the door and picked her up, curious to see what she wanted. It was the raisins beside the puffs... Nature's candy, who would have figured?

At least she likes healthy things! She could be snitching out of a candy jar...

Maggie would like to challenge Kylie to a sweating contest. I wonder who would win? :)

Tomatoes? Who, me? What precious shots. Didn't take her long to figure out where those neat tomatoes came from!
