Meeting cousin Ella

Despite a busy day, we did give Kylie the chance to nap twice yesterday (both times in the car ~ that counts, right?). She slept soundly from our lunch in Columbia until we parked in downtown Baltimore. We met my cousin Melanie and her daughter, Ella at the Inner Harbor.

It was so good to introduce Kylie and Ella ~ their birthdays are just a month apart. The weather was beautiful, so we just wandered around and people watched for a bit. Then we found a bit of a grassy area to let the girls down and stretch their legs. We read some books...

...gave lots of hugs (and yes, Kylie quickly noticed that her mommy was holding someone else and came to claim her territory)...

...and even shared our drinks (notice the switch ~ Kylie wanted to try Ella's sippy cup and Ella decided to revisit her bottle days by chugging Kylie's water).

Later we went to Phillips Seafood for crab cakes and then true to our family fashion, we got ice cream for dessert! I decided to get chocolate chip cookie dough so that I could feed her just the vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate ~ she did fall asleep easier...

There is something about being near the water. Too bad we don't have a waterfront area near home. Oh well, we'll just have to visit often!

How fun for Kylie and Ella to be so close in age. They are very cute together. Oh and yup, naps in cars count ... at least for us as it happens all the time!!! Take care and happy mother's day to you.

Oh, whoa! Are you guys still in the DC area? If so, give me a call! I know it's totally my fault that I haven't gotten to meet Kylie yet, but let me know if you guys are still around!
