Courage... Compassion... This picture sums up the past couple of days. At first just a few tentative steps took all the energy and strength he had, but he kept on trying. A few steps down the hall, next time to the nurse’s station, eventually to the snack drawer, the activity room, the rooftop garden… Each walk comes a bit easier and he can go a bit farther than the last and at this point I think we’ve heard about a hundred folks call him a rock-star. And right beside him, his mama bear, patiently explaining, holding his hand, reassuring, calming, comforting, encouraging.
Keep on walking buddy, home is getting closer with each step.
