big kids need hugs too

Just had a realization that even 'big kids' still need their snuggle time. What started as a regular hug became what we call a 'tree frog hug' (all child initiated) and lasted over ten minutes. I just stood in the kitchen swaying back and forth cherishing the moment. My arms were getting tired but I wasn't letting go until the child was ready. Mercifully for my arms, another child woke up and then my tree frog scampered down to go play a game.
May this reminder to hug often stay with me for a long time to come...
