our day of thanks

Thanksgiving day...and I have so many reasons to be thankful.  This post focuses on the twelve people I spent Thanksgiving day with.

Thankful for three 'stairstep boys' (ages nearly 9, 7, & 5) ~ with no genetic relation at all ~  who are now brothers and cousins who enjoy playing cards together (when it is too cold to go climb trees outside).

I'm thankful for two girls, born in different countries on a different continent who, at only three months apart in age, are two peas in a pod.

I'm thankful for my husband's mom who loves not only my children, but my sister's children as well.

I'm thankful for my quiet girl who is content to find something to do on her own, especially if it is electronic.

I'm thankful for my mom who, by example, taught me what hospitality and loving your friends and family looks like.

I'm thankful for comfy couches for my weary sister and brother-in-law to crash upon and I'm thankful for their hearts for others...their 'behind the scenes' work in ministries late into the nights is part of why they are often tired.

I'm thankful for a man who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty in the kitchen.
(and I could go on and on about his accolades...but that's another post for another day)

I'm thankful for a wee one who was still on the other side of the world last year at Thanksgiving...and for all of her 'help' in the kitchen.

I'm thankful that the kids table had to be replaced this year because the one that was bought when Mama only had two grandchildren was MUCH too small!

I'm thankful for a simple, mostly traditional, Thanksgiving...with our family twist.  Pretty sure Chinese buffet style green beans aren't on many Thanksgiving tables, but I'm grateful for the seven reasons they were on ours.

And I'm grateful for this merry little band of cousins, ages nearly nine down to four, who think that our family is 'normal.'

Hope your Thanksgiving day was wonderful in its own way!

Kristi,
Looks like you had a wonderfully, blessed Thanksgiving with your family! The need for a larger table is truly a fantastic need! As we approach Christmas, enjoy the preparations with your beautiful Treasures.

God Bless you all,

The 7 grands get along so nicely; that is a pleasure to watch. My home and heart were full!

The one of the adult table looks like it should be some sort of advertisement or something! :)
