A facelift

It was time.

I really liked the simple look of Fireworks and Fireflies for the past year, but as of last week, we had been home nearly seven months with the wee one.  I felt somewhat neglectful that we still didn't have any family pictures that reflected our newest addition.

Thankfully we were gifted a photo session by a talented young lady from our church back home.  She graciously offered waaaayyy back in 2008 when we were waiting to bring Caleb home.  But by the time he was here and settled in, we were waiting for Darcy.  And then by the she was home and her crazy haircut was growing out, we were waiting for Daniel.  But finally over Thanksgiving ~ with no addition to the family on the horizon ~ we got to take advantage of her generous offer.  And she even agreed to try to add Maya to the mix.  (though she wasn't too sure about it at first)  If you are in the greater Charlotte metro area and need family pictures done, Joy has a knack of getting kids to cooperate.

With Joy's help, by Christmas I had all these great photos to use.  My problem was that I didn't know how to use them.   Anyone that knows my family, knows that my sister got the artistic genes.  While I can do wonders on a coloring book page, that's about all I've got.  Enter my blog guru Ashton.  I sent her a FB message and my favorites of our photo shoot.  The only direction I offered was that I wanted the overall look to still be somewhat simple.  She asked about color themes, and because I had no clue, I gave her creative license.  About 24 hours later Fireworks and Fireflies had a terrific new facelift.  It was that easy!
