A donut kind of day

The first words I heard from Miss DQ this morning were, "Hey Mommy, guess what?"

And then before I could even respond, she got a twinkle in her eye and answerd, "I fohr ana haf!"

No wonder that she had such a sparkle.  Round here half birthdays mean both the right to consider yourself a little older AND a trip to get donuts.

And while she was briefly excited about the fact that, "Me and Caleb are twins, we're both fohr ana haf!," I suspect it really was the sweet treat that was the highlight of her day.

The boys came up for air to smile.  But the girls, especially the half birthday girl?  Way too interested in that hot donut to pause.

It may be a silly little tradition.  But it's a yummy one...

We'll be donut dreamin' tonight!  Happy 4 1/2 baby girl!
