You've gotta watch the little ones

Saturday I had such high hopes of getting a good shot of my three along with their cousins.  The first staged shots weren't getting us anywhere, but after snapping at least a few cute ones as they ran away from me, I had high hopes when they decided they had gone far enough and began to run back.

They had switched positions, messing up my zen balance, but the joy on their faces as they ran was fun.
It was looking good and I was sure that with just a few more shots I'd capture THE one that would be print worthy.
So close, just look at the "moment" between boy cousins.
Oh wait, I've seen the gleam in the little one's eye before.
That stinker, you've gotta watch the little ones...
He managed to derail the entire assembly with one dramatic "fake fall."
I held my breath as they all checked their knees to make sure no scabs had been scraped off.
Thankfully looking like lots of laughter and smiles.
Repositioning.
And off they go again.  But look closely at the little one.  Do you see the gleam in his eye this time?

If you are wondering, they made it about two more steps before the next pile up...

***********************************************************************************
And since it is my blog, and they are my kids and my niece/nephew, here's a parting shot...
Besides, it is so much more fun to take pictures of them wearing the clothing instead of taking pictures of the shirts and dreaming of when three of these darlings were going to be home with their forever families!
Oh, and yeah, I guess not many cousins frequently wear matching stuff.  But sometimes the clearance rack at Target is just calling.  Besides, we figure anything to help cement family unity despite the miles between us...

I really need to look up more words so I can stop saying cute, adorable, precious, amazing, sweet..... I need BIGGER words! I LOVE these pictures. How far away are you from your sister? I hope to see many more group shots, so I hope you're not TOO far away! :)

Great shot! I love that they were all matching. I guess that's the twin mama in me. So wonderful they all have each other and your very own sister is also an adoptive mom. That's what I call a support system. What a blessing.

What a great series of pictures. That gleam in Caleb's eye just can't be missed. All five are learning to play well with each other and to love each other. What a joy to watch!

I love your 'reasoning' and perspective for buying matching cousins clothing...and any excuse to shop the clearance racks at Target, right!?! ;) I love these photos... sometimes the 'real' candids are just the BEST! :)

God bless! <><
