Liuhuia park (Monday, March 1)

Kylie, Caleb, and Darcy needed some time to stretch their legs and play, so instead of joining much of our group heading back to Shamian Island following the "all clear" at the consulate from Rebecca, we ventured over to Liuhuia Park near the China Hotel.

If you are traveling to Guangzhou with one or more pre-schoolers in tow, I highly recommend spending some time here!  The walk around the lake is flat (easy for strollers and running children) and there is a great play area that cost us $1.50 to get all three in.  If you were to ask Caleb what his favorite part of the trip has been, he'd probably tell you "hugging Darcy and the parks!"

Getting some much needed time to stretch their legs on the way to the play area!

Can't you just imagine the conversation that both are wanting to carry on...

We spent nearly an hour letting all three explore the various playground equipment.  Ian and I both commented on how our playgrounds are too "safe" these days at home...

Caleb takes his time across the chain bridge.

Kylie and I prepare to take a spin.  Man was I "bizzy" (as Kylie says) when I got out!

 climbing the slide equipment

riding the elephant chair merry go round

 Pedal faster!

And then Ian went into the McDonald's next to the China Hotel to grab us some burgers and nuggets for a FAST lunch (only our second time at MickeyD's since we've been over) and of course my kids were enthralled by Ronald.

Thankfully I got this picture before they all started trying to pick his nose...

One of my biggest regrets...I don't know HOW we missed going to this park altogether!! I'm so glad to see your kids having so much fun together! And, REALLY? Only your second time at McDonald's? I don't want to hear any more about picky kids. I win that award, thank you.

The park looks really beautiful. I can just see Ian improvising some of this equipment in your own back yard some day. Would like to have seen all three of the kids picking Ronald's nose! haha
See you soon.

Still following along...that park looks like a lot of fun. Especially that merry-go-round with the chairs.

I'm wondering what Cindy had to say about Caleb wanting cauliflower for dinner?? :)

Oh, and we went to Chick-fil-A last night while we were out running errands. Andrew ordered 2 fruit cups. :)

Lovin following you adventures. However as a Early Childhood Educator and designer of several playgrounds for young children, I will have to say while the equipment looks like so much fun, my heart did a total flip in my chest when I saw the ground! Was that BRICKS? Oh my! Of course I would totally let my wild ones on, but would totally be on the watch for falls, ouch!!

Darcy is adorable, glad she is adjusting so well and that you all are having such a good time.

I can't wait to hear about the conversations your girls will have. They just look like kindred spirits! We went to that park but never saw that play area. We ended up at the carnival rides...way too stimulating for KayLi. This would have been so much better! Darcy looks more relaxed and comfortable with each post!
