Last hours in Darcy's province

Breakfast (our best effort yet ~ we're getting this down to a science now, too bad we won't have breakfast buffets at home...) was followed with the dreaded "pack up" and an early nap for the kiddos.  Thank goodness we had the foresight to get a nap for them in the morning instead of pushing through the day!

Sleepy babies

At 1:30 we checked out of our hotel, had them hold our bags, and headed for one last walk along the West Lake.  It really is a beautiful area!  And it was so refreshing that while we still got our share of stares, we also got lots of smiles, thumbs up, and one elderly gentleman who spoke to us for a few minutes and told us that he liked our beautiful hearts.  Here are a  few of my favorite shots from our time by the water.

This picture cracks me up.  Peaceful lake with pagoda background and Darcy dishing it out to Caleb over his snack selfishness in the foreground.  And so it begins...

These three have Daddy's number. Of course the giant puffball of spun sugar cost a whopping total of three yuan.

A moment with my big girl.

There were a lot of musicians and singers just randomly scattered about the boardwalk and the music brought out my dancing queens.

The reason Caleb wasn't dancing.  We've tried "Finger Licking Roast Pork" flavor Lay's stacks, "Sweet Chili Sauce" flavor Bugles, "French Roast Chicken" flavor Lay's chips, and these Prawn Crackers.  In Caleb's book, the Prawn Crackers rule.  My personal favorite have been the Bugles.

And I thought getting two looking at the camera at the same time was difficult...

Savor was a wonderful guide and we really enjoyed our time with her!

Savor saw us through security and then the nightmare of being stuck in the airport (at dinner time) in a cloud of smoke (I'm sure we all lost about five years of our lives due the the sheer amounts of second hand smoke we inhaled) and then eating "dinner" on the run way took over...

I love the first two pictures! Both for the little people that make them both so funny and for the gorgeous lighting on that pagoda!

And I'm so glad that you'll be home just a week from today (plus a few hours)!

I found your blog online and have really enjoyed following your trip to Darcy. Your kids are amazing, and you're right, no one would know that they haven't been siblings forever! I am waiting on referral of my own SN child from China and my heart absolutely swells when I read stories like yours. Thank you for sharing! Many blessings...

I'm happy that you were able to enjoy every last minute in Darcy's province. The pictures by the water are so pretty! Praying you have forgotten about your flight already and that you are enjoying your swankie hotel :0)

I hope that your net flight is better and that Caleb keeps feeling better. Sue is so excited that Kylie has 3 now, just like us! I bet that, gaining a new little sister, Kylie is growing up by the minute! We will say prayers for y'all!

Caleb, you look like a little frog laying on that bed - you are so cute! Kylie and Darcy, you are lovely dancers. You all look so happy. Can't wait to see you back in North Carolna.

Caleb, just what do Prawn crackers taste like?? Isn't "prawn" a shrimp? Bleh. I gotta get that boy some Cheesy Pringles. The other chips sound absolutely delightful. How pathetic am I? Instead of commenting on your cute kids and great photos, I'm having chip envy.

I'm also having hotel envy! Are you staying at the White Swan?? Oh, man, I would have loved to be on the island and be so much more accessible to all it has to offer.

And I gotta say, my first thought with a stroller full of toddlers next to a lake was a panic-stricken one! My klutzy kids would inevitably have landed in that lake! Great photo, though! I'm sure your hands were off of them for the amount of time it took to snap the picture! I love how Darcy is taking Caleb to task already! I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to meet her! Hopefully, she'll let me love all over her! Caroline said she wants Kylie to come back to her house and bring her sister...and she can bring her "bwovver" too. :-)
