Weigh in Wednesday

Last week Maya had to go to the vet to get her rabies booster. Poor puppy had to get three different vaccines that day, but at least she is a better patient (when it comes to shots) than my "non-furry" kids. The visit gave both bad news and good news to report.

(Bad news first because I like to end on a good note!) The bad news is that this vet doesn't think Maya's watery eyes have anything to do with allergies like our vet back in Charlotte thought. Nope, this one is pretty sure that Maya has extra folds of skin in her eyelids that cause her eyelashes to rub against her eyes (Cindy, are you reading this? Sound familiar?). The vet recommends that we take Maya to see a veterinary ophthalmologist ~ sounds EXPENSIVE to me...

The good news is that the vet was very pleased that Maya has dropped 11 pounds since her visit just over six months ago. (Maya gained about 8 pounds with the addition of the first child to our family and then a shocking 15 with the second!) We finally found a strategy for her that works to combat the extra goodies she finds under the table. She's actually starting to get "a waist" back! Doesn't she look great from March (yeah, that was taken on our freak March 1st snowstorm day) to now?

Anyway, I'm thrilled that someone in our house is losing weight, but I sure wish it were me! My pants are all getting a bit too snug again. I've found in the past that what works the best for me is to be held accountable, for all my readers to see. And so begins my Weigh In Wednesday posts...

First thing this morning ~ and I'm showing the yoga pants so that I don't cheat one week and try to save myself a few ounces by not wearing clothes... By the way, without the camera in my hands I was 167.8 (that was totally for my benefit).

Hey I can relate to that scale thingy! I'm trying to lose also but then I just think of food all the more. What's the deal with that? Guess I'll just keep trying. Mom always said she wasn't too fat she was just too short! I'm going with that theory.

Can I just tell you that you are one of my favorite blog friends for several reasons (I was thinking this when I read your "until" post but didn't have time to comment at the time)??? You are So real which I love the most....my two friends and I just started a "lose weight" blog....I CANNOT believe how much weight I have gained in two years..turning forty and a neck fusion all happened at once and it isn't pretty..SO...I am right there with you in the wanting to be accountable department.can I post this picture to our other blog??

Well, you know how I feel about weigh-in Wednesdays! Pretty motivating, huh? I have been doing everything right and staying at the exact same number, which is about to make me go nutty!!! I wish you good luck and look forward to seeing lower numbers on BOTH of our scales soon! :)

I laughed out loud when I read how much you weight without the camera. I should do this too. I think I've gained about 20 lbs. in the last 2 years. I used to weigh every day when I felt good about my weight. Then it just started creeping up and up and up. Now I look at the scale, shrug and say, "Maybe tomorrow." Last night I had a huge bowl of ice cream. Ugh!

My poor Maya. I have wondered if her eyelashes were rubbing her eyes - like Kylie's used to do. Hope you can get them fixed easily and not too expensively.

I am proud of you making yourself accountable to all of us about your weight loss. I will be praying for you - and myself also.

God be with you,
LaoLao

Poor Maya! I hope her eye situation gets better - but she is looking very slender and adorable! :-) I'm with you on the weight issue! Just know I'm rooting for you!
Thanks so much for your kind words. I did take a very much needed break for lots of reasons and it looks like I missed A LOT of big news!!! I'm glad to be back.

3 things: first of all, I'm proud of your pup! Our golden, Caspian, topped the scales at 119 at his biggest...I think he's part horse, actually. Second, I'll be rooting for you on your new goal! And third, I love your pretty pink toes!

Dave's friend at school just got a golden retriever puppy named MAYA! Good for you for posting your weight! You are the second blog friend that has done this. I've been thinking the past few weeks about doing it too but now you & Jen have motivated me to post it!
