I can't decide

So a new adoption process means a new dossier (if you're not in "international adoption-land" think THICK stack of documents proving who you are and detailing EVERY aspect of your life ~ click here to see Caleb's dossier) and a new dossier means new photo pages.

I actually enjoy creating scrapbook pages and now that most of our documentation for Darcy's dossier has been compiled (just waiting on our home study to be complete and then our immigration approval ~ the two things COMPLETELY out of our control) I'm happily starting to work on creating some fun pages that show our family.

One requirement is to have a "formal" (meaning everyone looking at the camera) family shot. We had a great one from back in February, but I wanted one more recent so Sunday after church Ian set up the timer and we posed for several "bursts" (my timer can be set to take 10 pictures in a row ~ thanks Andrew for that tip!). The outside sets were a wash, but we got some good ones inside. Now I just can't decide between the best two and I'd love your thoughts on which to use!

Option 1 with a super smile from Ky?
Option 2 with obvious "extra excitement" from Caleb?

Or just a shot that best shows what getting that formal shot was really like...
(My favorite by far, but one that we can't use...)

And TOTALLY changing the subject, you may remember my cousin Chad and his wife Caroline whose marriage we celebrated last June about this time (click here). Well, they are quite the adventurous couple and when we saw them last they were preparing for the trip of a lifetime. Ian and I are totally trying not to be jealous (and succeeding only because we don't ride motorcycles) of their trip from DC to Alaska to South America that they are taking over the next YEAR! They hit the road on the 14th of this month. As of their last post on Father's Day they were in Chicago. They only post every few days, but you should totally check them out at An Odyssey across the Americas.

I really like #2 but my vote is #1 because its a little bit closer and I can see yours and Ian's faces better. But #3 is awesome!!! Maybe you've already blogged about this but where are you in the whole home study thing? Have you started you visits?

I like #1 because Kylie's legs are not "in action" and it's closer. Your cousin's trip sounds cool! I will email them some great spots to eat along the West Coast.

WHERE ARE THE RABBIT EARS?! You guys need some more kids.

I vote #1...I love the expression on Kylie's face, and Caleb's is just as cute.

And I'm kinda partial to #3, as well, but you've spent enough time with my family to know why...

I vote #1 only becuase it's a closer shot of you all, but if I could I'd add #3, ha! :) You all look wonderful and I am excited to watch you travel to China again - wish I were going with you all again! Isn't it funny how quickly the documents come together the 3rd time.

I vote for number one. I think both kids look super happy in that one. What a cute family. It looks nice with your old furniture in your new house... from what I can see.

Both are great pictures, but I also like #1 'cause it is a bit closer. The kids look so stinkin' cute in both of them though! Such a beautiful family...can't wait to see Darcy in the mix!

Options??? You had options??? I have no idea what that's like.

But I vote for number 1. (They are adorable as always).

PS The move is supposed to be the end of July...if we ever find a house, that is.....

Funny - looks like we all agree #3 is the fav, but if we have to pick a "everyone looking at the camera" one - I like #1. She just looks so sweet in that one!

How cool, what your cousin is doing! What a great life experience.
