My first Mother's Day as Mommy to two

Have you ever had "an Eternal moment?"
You know, the kind of moment where you get overwhelmed in the simplicity of it. The kind of moment that you know will be etched in your mind forever, where you'll be able to remember in detail each sense that was involved ~ the sight of the smiles on your children's faces as they play happily together, the sound of their footsteps running across sand and their laughter over the roar of the surf as they hit the "deep part" of the tidal pool, the taste of the salty water that was being splashed on our faces as the kids ran by, the smell of salt and sunscreen, and the feel of the sand between your toes as the waves wash over them. No camera was in my hand as I lived an eternal moment with my family, and I know I'll always think back to the almost heart bursting joy I felt just being in the moment with them.
I told Ian as we sat side by side in the shallow water at the edge of the tidal pool that while I'm usually an "on the go" type girl that I couldn't remember a time that I was happier than just sitting there with him, watching Kylie and Caleb.

**Of course I did have my camera out a couple of times during the day (actually just twice ~ guess I'm slowing down on my mamarazzi duties) and had to share just a few last shots of my time in one of my favorite places on Earth with three of my very favorite people.

So beautifully put! You really have a gift with words. Makes a mama feel good. The pictures make me sing "I'm going to Carolina in my Mind" I am so with ya when it comes to the beach. We are counting down the days til we go in June. Lovely photos!

So awesome, Kristi! You have such a way with words!! P.S....back to the Joe's Crab Shack post....Isn't it amazing what we'll let our kids do on vacation? We leave in less than 3 weeks for ours and I'm a little nervous because my husband is a BIG "we're on vacation lets just let them _____" person. Oh well! Its all about the memories, isn't it?!?!

I'm so glad you found the beautiful words to journal your moment. It can be so hard to be still long enough to capture moments like that and I'm glad you did!

Oh, that God allows us to have those "eternal" moments. What joy and happiness He has provided for us....precious children, loving spouse, ocean waves, sand, sunshine, smiles, etc. etc. etc.
Delighted that you four had such a delightful weekend.
Love, LaoLao
