Have two years really passed? There we stood in a room with ten other families (whose lives we would become intertwined with) and in an instant we went from a couple to a family of three. Words could never fully convey the emotion of that moment, but perhaps this picture gives a glimpse...
When I caught my breath the SWI worker that named the babies asked to take Kylie's picture with her forever family (and luckily our family photographers jumped in on the action too).
Could this really be the same little girl?
Yeah, I think it just may be...
Kylie is currently a HUGE fan of Dora (as well as Hello Kitty and Diego). On her only Dora DVD, there is an episode called Boot's Special Day and Boots gets to choose how to celebrate. (I bet we've watched that episode 100 times if we've seen it once...) So that's what we did to celebrate our family day. Earlier this week we told Kylie that her Forever Family Day was coming up and asked her what she wanted to do to celebrate. She said that having lunch with Daddy sounded good, so then we asked her where she wanted to eat. Her first response, "I dunno, there are so many resraunts!" Then she smiled and said, "How bout the place with the kababs!" So that's where we met Daddy for lunch.
Then we walked next door (to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory) for a special surprise. We told Kylie that she could pick ANYTHING in the store and she stood asking what each delicious treat was. I was sure she'd pick the kabob of three chocolate covered marshmallows or the chocolate covered Oreo, but sprinkles on the non pareils turned out to be too tempting...
There is NO DOUBT in my mind that God knew Lian Bao Zhen and I would be mother and daughter before I was ever born. Thank you God for my precious treasure! (That's what the characters for Bao Zhen translate to in English!) My life was forever changed that day...

Oh she looks so little in those pictures!! Isn't it amazing the memories we all have of that day. It's just awesome to be able to read everyones thoughts on this special day! Happy Family Day to you all!! (p.s. Non-pareils are Mike's favorite - over many other types of candy - there must be something special about them!)
Our lives forever changed for the better two years ago today. Thank you loving Father for the precious gift of Kylie. What joy she has given to each of us. Congratulations on this "Forever Family" day, Millers.
Love, LaoLao Shultz

I can't even tell you how happy I am to be one of those ten other families...as hard as it was to wait for that day, I am forever thankful to our Father in heaven for the way that He multiplied our blessings that day to include you and Kylie and the rest of your family...and Lottie and her family...and Grace and her family...and Darby and her family...and Nellie and her family...and Olivia and her family...Sarah and her family...and Marisa and her family...and Kristin and her family and Hallie and her family...not to mention all the other families we met along the way! I remember following your journey back then. The first picture almost brought me to tears. What a beautiful family you have. (how sweet to see Darby in the background too the girls have sure grown) Happy Family Day!
I never get tired of looking at those first pictures. It was such an emotional and joyous day. What a beautiful picture of you and Ian and Kylie. She is definitely a "precious treasure."
Has it really been two years already? And it looks like she's always been with you.
Kristi you had asked in an earlier post for suggestions on reading material and I have a couple for you: right now I'm reading "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck and I'm really enjoying it; I've read "Chinese Cinderella" by Adeline Yen Mah, and another one by the same author is called "Falling Leaves" - I haven't read that yet.
Thanks for the New Year's card. The kids are so cute. Our email address is: ronmaryhuber@verizon.net - could you send us your email address or is it the same as it was?
