Don't hate me because my weather is beautiful...

Okay, it was a bit chilly for the bathing suit, but I've been starting to go through Kylie's 2T stuff to see what is still going to fit this summer and she saw her suit and "fip fops" and just had to put them on. Then she insisted on going to throw the ball for Maya...

In other news, I stayed up WAY TOO LATE last night to finish Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin. Thank you so much to my bloggy friends that recommended it (and the other five books I ordered from Amazon ~ I'm starting Daughter of China by C. Hope Flinchbaugh) when I finish this post). In my honest opinion, Last Dancer should be required reading for all China adoptive families. It isn't about adoption at all, but it is Li Cunxin's memoir of his life and provided such a greater understanding of life in a rural village and also life on the other side of Communism. I couldn't put it down and was up after 1 am reading it several nights this week. If you haven't read it, I couldn't recommend it more!

Caleb is feeling much better today. He still pretty much keeps his left hand in a light fist and does everything with his right, but the redness and puffiness from where the splinter (or "foreign body" as the doctor called it) was in his hand has decreased thanks to the Augmentin. I'm thinking the cookies at our playgroup Valentine Cookie Party helped raise his spirits!
And today I was reading one of Kylie's Lianjiang sister's blogs (well, Caroline's Mommy's blog) and it took me back down memory lane. Two years ago we were still in China and had a full day with a failed purse shopping experience, a visit to a tea house, and an attempt at "buddy bath therapy" to help Kylie get over her fear of the tub. Click here to relive those good times!

First of all, SHUT UP! Bathing suit? It BETTER not be that warm. Cause once the snow melts, I'm done with cold. D.O.N.E. Ready for spring. No...ready for the beach. Meet me?

Secondly, THEY WERE JUST BABIES! Oh, how quickly time has flown and how big they are now. I'd like to say Caroline has an attitude now, but, as you well remember, there was this thing called the "China Syndrome".

And sorry about the purse chase. I never did find a purse I just love. I did give Caroline her "Hello Kitty" backpack for Gotcha Day...the one we bought for her that day.

Miss you!

Cindy, not to worry, it is not THAT warm, but Kylie is hot-blooded. Kristi, I just checked weather.com and we're 1 degree warmer than you and I walked outside at lunch...you're not wearing YOUR swim suit are you? What's Caleb wearing? Jacket? Gloves? :)

And you're in a play group already? Good for you!!

Oh man, I thought you were on vacation somewhere exotic! Wishful thinking, huh?

I'm going to try and request the book you recommended from the library today. I'm ALWAYS looking for a good read.

Hey Kristi - Just catching up on things and you have had an eventful few days! Hope Caleb's finger feels better soon! I can't believe how much he has grown up over the past few months...he looks so different so quickly! And, the bathing suit looks too cute! It's not even that warm here in Guangzhou!!!

Oh I just love looking back at those pictures! We had a HORRIBLE time in China w/ Anne Marie's baths -- maybe a bath-buddy would have been a good idea for us. (We didn't think of that!)

Trying not to hate you cause of the weather, but it's getting harder and harder, I am really ready for some warm weather.
LOL, I don't really hate you ......... just wish it would warm up a bit up here in the north!! Could you send some this way, or maybe I should just head your way, it's getting really tempting!

I'm so glad to hear that Caleb is feeling better...poor guy!

Oh how I remember the days when Emily wouldn't get out of her bathing suit. She use to wear it in the tub when it was cold out :0)

Thanks for the book recommendation. I'll be checking Amazon soon.
