Caleb's first parade

So this is from Thanksgiving weekend, but these days finding time to blog is getting much harder than when it was just Kylie...
I could have skipped it, but we attended this same parade the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year with Kylie (click here) and I wanted to remember Caleb's first parade too! It was COLD and damp that day, and at first I wondered if we were really going to make it through the parade because Caleb was whimpering about the cold. Then the firetrucks approached and he forgot about the temperature outside. We paused for a picture...
...and if you wonder where the rest of the family was...
...that's Kylie and Ian in the front right corner. Our friend Joe (Susannah's Daddy) has connections everywhere and could get Kylie on the float if she wanted. Ian said that at first she was scared (both of the noise of the firetrucks in front of the float and the Eagle mascot on the float) but as soon as she saw parade watchers waving she came to life and began to wave her little arms off. She was so ADORABLE!
Caleb was entranced by the entire process and he actually began to cry a bit when the last float went by. When Ian and Kylie finally got back to our location, we got a cup of hot cider and listened to our praise team from our old church sing a few songs before we headed back to Mama's to warm up and take naps.

And I'm not positive which morning this picture was taken, but I thought it was so cute. Since Kylie could talk she has called this little niche "her seat" and we were thrilled to see that she invited Caleb to sit there with her.

I love the picture of Kylie waving on the float! You are a brave lady!! I hate the cold...I'm a wimp, I'll admit it! I'm running in my first half marathon on Sunday and praying for at least a balmy 50 degrees!

Wow - it looks like the parade was a lot of fun for everyone!!! I also love the picture of the kids in "their seat." That's too cute. I am sure things are so busy in your household now with 2 little ones! Are things getting ready for your first Christmas with 2 little ones??? (YEAH!)

Being the Northern girl that I am, I have to tell you we pulled a float in our Santa parade here and it was 22 degrees that night! No snow, but it sure was COLD. Now, today...we've got over 12 inches of snow and the kids are home from school. Yes, it's pretty...but it's heck to shovel! :-)

Love the picture of Caleb squatting. He's such a cutie. And before I read the comment from Our Journey, I was wondering why in the world is Neal wearing shorts? It was FREEZING on Saturday!!!

We do have a running joke that it is a "youth director thing!" Neil was in that job for several years and always wore shorts when the rest of us were freezing. Our new director Josh had on pants and a sweater that day, but if you look carefully at the picture of Caleb squatting, you'll notice his flip-flop adorned feet. Crazy guys!!!

WAY cool, Kylie! Was that the Grinch on that float, too? I'm pretty sure that would have made Caroline bale off the side...Mickey has totally freaked her out with masks this year.

Caleb is just about as cute as he can be! Give his little junk food junkie cheeks a kiss from me!

Actually sis, I do have a picture of Caleb waving, but his arms are nothing more than a blur because he was moving them so fast!
