"Sometimes I call him honey"

Mention Ian's name around Kylie and most times you will see her look at me and ask, "Sometimes you call him honey?" Yeah baby, "Sometimes I call him honey!"

You see, I'm not only blessed with two precious kids, but God also blessed me with my partner in life. He is loyal, kind, intelligent, even tempered, and funny. He adores both of our kids and cherishes me. Most importantly, he walks humbly with our God! I'm way too tired to fully do justice on what Ian means to me, but to put it simply, while I hated to move away from our home, I realized the other day that I'd happily go with this man anywhere ~ to a new city across the state, or halfway around the world...
(Perhaps one day we'll fully understand the snippets of visions we have of being missionaries overseas)

Caleb giggles with him, Kylie clearly adores him, and I KNOW that he is THE love of my life!

**Yesterday was the three month anniversary of Ian starting his new job. For three LONG months we have been in "survival mode" in our relationship as our usual more meaningful conversations have taken backseat to quick daily rundowns. For the first 8 weeks of that time he was up here working from early Monday morning until late Thursday night. He'd come back home to Kylie and I in our old house and work all day Friday and then we'd spend our weekends preparing our house to go on the market and beginning to move stuff into storage. Then came almost two weeks of living here with him pulling crazy hours for his big project. Next came our trip to China and while we were together 24/7 for two weeks, it wasn't exactly restful or an easy time to have deep conversations over anything except beginning to figure out how to manage two kids. Then we were back home and he was working CRAZY hours again for the project, even pulling an "all nighter" the night before he left for Texas. We haven't seen much of each other for a while now and despite the fact that I'm falling asleep all over myself, I'm staying up until he gets home tonight because he deserves more than me snoring as a welcome home! I'm so glad that he'll be here inside an hour and then we'll get back to life as normal ~ whatever our new normal is! At least we'll figure it out together!

Kristi, I have tears in my eyes reading this post. You are so blessed to have Ian in your life and he is so blessed to have you! I try not to be jealous, but sometimes I am. It truly is a blessing to have someone to walk through life with, to the share the good and the bad and God has blessed both you and Ian tremendously. I can't imagine how happy you are to have him home and how happy he is to be there.

I am so glad that Ian is back home. You are very blessed. I know how you feel when you say you would go anywhere with him. Thankfully the Lord has not asked us to move yet, but I would go anywhere with my "honey." God bless you and your family!

Kristi - I think Ian is probably just as thankful for you as you are for him. I think there aren't many people in this world that are so blessed to have a happy, loving marriage. Have a wonderful week-end spent TOGETHER as a family of FOUR!
