Got the passport...

...we had to sit and wait at the Civil Affairs office for it to come across town, but we still got to have dinner outside the airport with Zoe and Du (our driver in Wuhan for the week) and made it Guangzhou!

I'm so tired tonight! By the time we got our luggage claimed, rode to the hotel, got checked in, created some semblance of order in the room, and I got a shower (I remembered when we stepped off the plane here why I showered sometimes twice a day here last time...) it was so very late. We meet in the hotel lobby at 9 to go to the medical exam. I dread being up and going so early ~ the kids got to bed too late ~ but I'm so excited to meet the other boys in this travel group!

We had a great day and I'll post about it later. Here are two shots of the kids at breakfast this morning...

"Fried chicken on a stick? It's like a chicken lolipop!"
Kylie ate more at this meal than she has since we've been here...

He grins a lot, but if there is food around the smile is ALWAYS this big. Is he a boy after Mama's heart or what?

And per several requests, Caleb is swimming in the 24 month clothing I brought him. The onesies that he's worn have come down almost to his knees! The red shirt he wore today was an 18 month from Carters and it was quite big for him. At the rate he eats he may well fill out the 24 month stuff by the end of the winter, but I'm thinking that I need a few 18 month things for him for now.

Oh, and Happy Halloween! To my beloved Triple A's and cousin Sara, we'll be thinking about you Trick or Treating without us as we eat breakfast in the morning. Sorry that we'll miss it this year, but I'll bet Caleb will love to join in the tradition next year!

Woohoo!! So glad to hear you got the passport and arrived in Guangzhou on schedule!! Their grins are precious!! Tell the Claybrooke family hello!! I have not been able to post on their site. Looks like Caleb might be about Lottie's size or even a bit smaller. Hmmm..has Kylie tried to pick him up yet?? :) Have a great time as a family of four in Guangzhou...what fun!!! Wish we could be there!!!
Love you all!!

God is so good. I believe the quote "He is seldom early but NEVER late"! The pictures are so precious. Thanks for the sizes. As you realize other things that you are going to need, pass it along, please. Good eaters - children of my own heart. You know how I like for everyone at my home to enjoy the food.
Love you, LaoLao

How is my little junk food junkie?? ;-) Kylie, as always, is adorable, but that grin of Caleb's is heart-melting!

So sweet!!! Praying for you guys! Don't know if you know this connection or not but my sister (she comments as mattandsara) adopted their daughter from Wuhan in May. Also with AWAA. Anyway, just a bit of trivia for you on this lovely Halloween day. Can't wait to see more pictures!!

Looks like Caleb has as many teeth as Kylie. Does he? He looks quite happy here.

I'm still laughing about the freak show comment!!!

I am so relieved that you have Caleb's passport and made it to Guangzhou on time. One step closer to home!! I started downloading the new blog pictures this afternoon and ended up saving pictures from as far back as last year. I must have at least 50 that I want to print for my photo album. I am making duplicates of the recent ones so I can show all my friends next week what a beautiful family I have. We missed you at Halloween tonight. Looking forward to all the special times ahead with all four of you.
Love, nainai

Gled to hear that the passport issue is resolved. It is amazing to read how well the children are doing together. The fact that Kylie doesn't want to send him back puts them leaps and bounds ahead of many other siblings. Can't wait to see what is next.
Love and prayers,
Sherry

I am enthralled with all that is happening with you guys! Thank you so much for keeping all of us here updated. My very first thought when I saw Caleb's picture is how absolutely, positively, FUN he looks! That smile has so much to tell - he looks like he's ready for anything. Your family is such an inspiration to me. I see God everywhere in all you are doing and experiencing, mostly because you do such an amazing job sharing your day to day events with us. I really hope to see you next weekend, even if it's only at the airport. Please know that you are GREATLY missed - more than words can say and that I am shopping for 18 month holiday apparel tomorrow! :) Shane

I pray you'll have time to rest and relax on the last leg of your trip. Kylie and Caleb are behaving quite like Carter and John Christian...lovey, lovey one minute and then who can aggravate the other the most the next! John Christian just walked by and saw Kylie's picture and immediately began yelling Kywee, Kywee! I tried to explain that Kylie was with you and this was her new brother...to which he replied, "I want Kywee with me..." I smiled and told him we would see her soon and her new brother, Caleb. We are continuing to pray for all four of you...Love you lots! Jen
