Family reunion ~ Sunday at Mama's style

Most of the extended family from mom's side was in town this weekend to celebrate Chad's marriage, so the logical thing of course was to gather on Sunday ~ as if we didn't get to talk enough on Saturday night. A woman from our church catered the event (at Mama's house) and let me tell you about her fried chicken...
It was a very relaxed atmosphere and again we spent our time catching up since the last reunion. (Now that all the cousins in my generation are married, we are looking for "big" anniversaries as cause for family reunions. Luckily my mom's cousin Dale and his wife Noreen will be celebrating their 60th next summer. Arizona here we come...)
Shortly after we ate the sultry summer sun encouraged folks to head to the pool and several generations of the Fresh clan were swimming. Ella is very brave in the water, Kylie followed suit and had a BLAST!!! It is hard to remember how timid she was of the water last year! And it didn't stop with jumping off the side of the pool...
Ella declared that she wanted to jump off the diving board and Kylie decided that if Ella can do it then, "I juhmp dive board tuu!"

And she did...

After a while the pool calmed down and Ella and Kylie swam with a grandparent each. Ella with her granddad (mom's brother) and Kylie with her "dahma Shootz." They sang Jesus loves me, my video picked up more of the water sloshing around, but trust me, it would have melted your heart!
Before long it was time to eat again and with bellies full we took our weary bodies home. My poor baby didn't make it off mom's driveway before crashing. It was an exhausting weekend ~ three parties in three days/nights ~ but man was it fun!

WOW! I am light years behind you in blogging! I'm working on my next vacation post...almost done, but it has to wait for all my "stuff" to get done today. Bleh. Kylie and (my) Caroline are gonna have a BLAST in the pool! Can't wait! And, whew, you must be tired! That's a lot of partying in one day! We had company all day and evening yesterday, and Caroline was more cranky late in the day than she was being drug around all the parks in Disney!

Looks like you have a wonderful, close family...what a blessing!

Love ya!

Peer pressure. I couldn't believe that all of the little ones were lined-up to jump off the diving board! Kylie, Ella, Kyler and Chloe. They were all so proud of themselves. What a blessing to have 30 some family members from all over the country (RI, PA, AZ, OH, MD, France, SC, NC) at my home for the afternoon and evening. Gave lots of time to talk with everyone. Thanks to all.
