Couldn't she have at least pretended to be sad?

Our moms (Happy Birthday to my mama!) kept Kylie tonight so Ian and I could go out to dinner and to my sister's drama class production of Little Women. It is wonderful that Kylie feels so comfortable with her grandma (we dropped her off at my mom's), but don't you think she could have faked a frown when we left? Instead this is what we got (I took the picture from my car window as we were backing out)...

...Yeah, that would be the "happy dance" as she chanted, "I go bye bye wit dahma!" Oh well, at least she was happy!

That's EXACTLY what Maggie does when we leave her with her grandparents. "Bye bye!" without a backwards glance.

Funny! I understand what you are saying. Grandma's are just too cool though ... cooler than us parents I guess!

Thanks for the email! Appreciate the thoughts. Need them!

Yeah, when it comes to grandparents, I've been getting the "Don't let the door hit you on the way out" act for a while!

If I had to pick, though, it's much easier to have it this way...

Don't feel bad. When my mom is in the room.. I don't exist!!! Heck, if my mom is in the room I dont' even exist to "my" grandchilren.
:-( Funny, I don't remember my mom being so cool as a mother but as a grandmom.. she's the BEST!!

We must all be going through it -- my favorite is when Anne Marie doesn't want to come w/ us when we go to pick her up -- she wants to stay & play w/ all the new cool toys Grandma & Grandpa got her while we were gone! ha!!

I agree with Traci!! How blessed you are to have your mom so close by to watch Kylie for you.

Best birthday present I ever had - keeping you,Kylie. And the "happy dance" that you did when your parents left really "puffed" me up! haha We met Grandma Miller and R&R Barbeque for dinner then went to my Aunt Nancy's house to play with her grandchildren - Chloe and Toby. Chloe and Kylie had fun playing. Was a wonderful evening for the Grandma's and for Kristi and Ian as well.
