Here's Easter ~ a typically balmy weather holiday here in NC. You'd be hard pressed to find a little girl's Easter dress that isn't sleeveless! Yet this year we awoke Easter morning to a record setting low of 29 degrees so we had to add a sweater, tights and hat to Kylie's first Easter attire!
Now we're closing in on Christmas and I'm pretty sure that while I don't recall any white Christmas holidays here it at least used to be rather cool in mid-December. Today we topped out at a freakishly warm 81 degrees! I love warm weather, but it is hard to listen to Christmas carols when I'm standing barefoot outside...
(For our friends stuck in the icy weather in the Midwest, please don't hate on us sweating southerners!)
I finally brought Kylie inside, not because she was getting cold, but because I needed to get dinner started. She promptly undressed one of her babies (does anyone else have a child that strips their dolls?) re-arranged her headband, and hopped on her car. I guess she was going to pick up dinner for the two of them...
Oh, funny thing about the headband, I had never seen it before. When I got home from school today I asked Ian where it came from and he said Kylie got it out of the diaper bag. Strange...
I love watching the toddler mind in action! Earlier today Kylie and I were in her room reading books. (I never pass up the chance when she signs to me that she wants to read!) I was reading from a small book called Monster Places and when we came to a picture of Zoe from Sesame Street she made a really loud roaring sound. Confused I asked her who it was and she answered, "Zo!" At that point I was really wondering what she was thinking and then said, "What does Zoe say?" and again Kylie roared. Then it hit me ~ her current favorite book, Where's Elmo?. (We read it several times a day because my girlie is currently infatuated with the little red monster.) Here's a picture of the last page...
I guess it is normal, but I was pretty impressed with her connection of the characters.
Oh, and last night brought one more thing to (sarcastically) thank Uncle Adam for!

Your time will come Adam, your time will come!

First off --- I WANT that hat she has on @ Easter -- soo cute!! Anne Marie is just the oposite w/ her baby -- she loves to wrap her up in blankets! It's been in the
70's here in VA -- So strange!!!
It was worth it!
Maggie always strips her babies' clothes off! David found a hairbow in her pocket today that we have never seen before. Lianjiang hairbow mobsters, I bet.
81 huh? Well my gosh we have been freezing here with temps in the 20s and 30s.
Malia loves Elmo.
Outside and barefoot in December! Our weather has been unusual but great.
Uncle Adam always has the neatest things to teach Kylie. This is a real winner! haha
