Today Mama (known as LaoLao ~ or maternal grandma to Kylie) turned another year more wonderful! We celebrated by taking her out to dinner. Kylie was pretty excited about about a birthday (we've had lots of family birthdays since we've been home) and enjoyed the singing at our table. Yesterday and today were pretty low key days. Cousin Sara spent the day with us yesterday. Because it was a cold, rainy day, we stayed here and played inside until finally around 4pm when I discovered that we girls had serious cabin fever. (Okay, well I had cabin fever... surely Kylie and Sara did too!) So what excitement could I find for us to participate in? We headed to BJ's for a diaper run! Oh the joys of warehouse shopping ~ at least diapers are cheap! After cleaning the living room we went to get dinner (too hard to cook when you have two young girls and a rowdy dog trapped inside) and then took Sara home.
Today started way to early! Kylie has been developing a disturbing trend (well, disturbing to Ian and I) the past two mornings. Yesterday she woke up at 7:10 and this morning it was 6:53, very different from her sleeping until at least 8am ways! We will stop naps during the day if we have to!!!
I think that I've forgotten to mention that our daring daughter has learned to climb stairs. She can scale the lower section of our stairs (8 steps) in less than a minute. Luckily at this point she stands at the top and waits to be picked up instead of trying to come back down. Yeah, like that is going to last! Good thing we have already installed the top of stair gate and have a pretty sturdy one at the bottom too...
In other exciting news, Kylie's social security card arrived! Our baby is pretty much official...

Wow! Lots of fun stuff going on in your house. Kylie looks cute climbing up those stairs. Malia had times where she woke up early for a few days and then would go back to her "regular" schedule. She typically sleeps 11-12 hours, going to sleep somewhere between 7:30-8pm and waking up between 6:45 and 7:30am.
What a fun birthday celebration. Thank you family for making it so special. Olive Garden was scrumptous!
I always thought that the bigger mess made by children was an indication of how much fun they had. Judging by the picture, Kylie and Sara had a great afternoon!
Kylie is a master at going up the steps (and is so proud of herself). She'll just have to work a bit more on coming back down. I sat on the steps with her and we slid one step at a time on our bottoms. She thought that was fun. Only took her about three steps to catch on to the routine! She is so fast to learn new things - like a little sponge!
