This week's to do list...

Oh how I wish the to-do-list this week was pack for China! In fact I would leave with the clothes on my back and a toothbrush on the next flight if they would let me! But there are still several obstacles to overcome...

The main one this week is applying for our Visas. Many countries only require a passport to enter, China requires a Visa in addition to the passport. It provides a 90 day window to enter (and of course exit) the country of China. This involves getting a passport photo, filling out a long application, and sending those things along with our passports to our agency. We also have to get the photos, passports, and applications from Mama (Grandma Shultz), Ian's mom(Grandma Miller), my sister (Aunt Traci), and her husband (Uncle Adam. Hopefully we will have it all ready to go by Wednesday at the latest!

We got our photos made last night after dinner with our dear friends, Mitchell and Caitlin. I call them out by name because Mitchell is the kind of friend that will give you the shirt off of his back. I know this because Ian wasn't thinking about us stopping at Kinkos on our way home from dinner. He commented that he would have worn a dress shirt and then Mitchell insisted on giving him the button down he was wearing. So we went out to the parking lot where lived up to his offer. (Thanks pal!)

Another way we've been preparing for Kylie in the last few days is that Ian has completed the bookshelf he was working on for her room. It was a labor of love and just adds to the personalization for her nursery. He has already put up the wainscoating and built a shelf around the perimeter of the room. I have to say that it is my favorite room in the house! I can't wait until Kylie is here so that we can share it with her!Now Ian just needs to get to work on the dresser...

This room is a true work of love. It is so pretty for our pretty baby girl. I can already imagine Kylie pulling books off the shelves and taking naps on the softly colored sheets. A unique room for a special baby!! Soon it will be complete when baby Kylie is in the picture.
