OBX "school-cation" {a beach afternoon}

One interesting thing about the stretch of beach that is Kill Devil Hills...so many surfers! It wasn't uncommon for me to see guys getting out of their cars, boards in hand, as I headed to the beach access and see them hustle to the water.  Often by the time I'd change direction and be back they'd be finishing up and heading back to their cars.  For me beach access is more something of an 'all day affair' because it's not often accessible, but for them they'd grab 20 to 30 minutes of surf when they could take it.

It ended up being quite a warm day and so when everyone had finished their live classes, we all headed over to enjoy a sunny afternoon on the sand.

There was no set agenda beyond finding something to make yourself smile.  That looked like some football tossing...

...some photography...

...some searching for...

...and finding treasures in the sand...

...and tossing sand when Mamarazzi got too close...

...a little sand art...

...chatting with Grandma...

...checking out the water temps...

...perhaps a little too close...

There was no agenda and it. was. glorious!
