Easter {hanging out}

As we have every year since moving across the state, we spent Easter weekend at Mama's house.  Saturday we were to spend the day at a nearby park with our extended family.  Mother nature didn't cooperate though as it started raining Friday night and didn't quit until after we went to bed on Saturday.  To say it had been soggy would be an understatement...

There was something special though about the sun coming back out on Easter morning...a reminder of the restored life we were celebrating at church that morning.

After we got back there were Easter baskets to check out, a delicious meal to enjoy, and of course the egg hunt.  And those parts were delightful.

But even more memorable was time spent "just hanging out" with our family.

There were smiles,

naps interrupted,

moments in Grandma's lap (playing with slime putty),

games to play,

moments of self expression,

shrieks of joy over simple magic tricks,

slime putty bubbles,

herbs to plant,

new tricks to learn

rip-sticks to conquer,

Let It Go lyrics to master (on youtube...for the millionth time)

and baseballs to toss.

That pretty much sums up our Easter afternoon.  We don't get to spend a lot of time these days with our extended family, but we sure treasure that bit that we do!

Haha, once your kids get done memorizing all the songs in Frozen, maybe they need to get started memorizing the Mandarin version~
