let's bake, shall we?

What do you get when you take 16 sticks of butter, 5 lbs of flour, 6 lbs of various types of sugar, baking soda, vanilla, molasses, chocolate chips, butterscotch morsels, coconut, and pecans?

Well, you get a great big pile of yummy ingredients on a table.

But if you add some mixing bowls, a set of beaters, and a few eager workers, then you have yourself a cookie baking marathon!

We measured.

We mixed.

thankful mama was here with us to bake this year, i know the kiddos enjoyed having her to help...she, as grandma, may allow a bit more sampling than i do.

We scooped batter onto baking stones.

And we moved cookies to wire racks to cool.

Yes, a little mess was made along the way...

...but cleaning up was worth every sweet bite of the double batches of chocolate chip, crispy polynesian, Italian wedding, and molasses cookies we have been enjoying for the past week.

I hope we end up with enough left to share with friends...

It was a fun marathon! Please save some of the wedding cookies for me - they were my Mama's favorite cookie to bake for my Daddy.
