together

When it was time to decide on a spring activity through the parks and recreation department, it took Caleb about 2 seconds to settle on anything soccer.  A month long soccer clinic fir the bill perfectly.  Done.

The girls however had a bit more of a difficult decision in front of them.  You see, one wanted jazz...

...the other wanted gymnastics.

But even more than pursuing an individual interests, what they really wanted was to find an activity that they could explore... together.

So they sat down and made individual lists of things they wanted to try and then compared notes.  They discovered that they both had ballet rather high on their list of possibilities.

When the first class was over, it was clear from the sparkle in their eyes that they have both found a passion in ballet.  Class may last only an hour a week for two months, but I'm seeing ballet positions practiced at the house now at all times.  Their teacher has noted that both girls seem to have a natural talent and has encouraged us to put them in regular ballet lessons.

I do enjoy watching them learn!

Now at this point, I'm not sure how far they will pursue dancing...and if I'm going to be perfectly honest, I'm really not so sure that I care.

The self confidence they are gaining as they perfect their plies and arabesques is substantial.  And I do love to watch them gracefully move across the floor as they dance.  But far more precious than their skill is their ever-deepening bond as sisters, their relationship means far more to me than dance ever will!

Oh my goodness - those pictures of them walking in, especially that last one when they are so in sync, are just SO precious!

Glad you found something they're both enjoying and getting to do together :-)

Adorable! I so hope my little girl will have a passion for ballet. I loved doing ballet as a child. How is your adoption going? Have you guys heard anything? We are still waiting to matched even though we check the list every day for children who may be a good match for our family. All in due time-right? Came close a couple of times, but in both cases the childrens needs were greater than what my husband felt we could handle.

Sisters are so special. It is delightful to see Kylie and Darcy being so "together". Kylie has shown me her ballet moves. Can tell that she enjoys it so much - even more so because Darcy is there learning with her.
