finally...getting ready

It's been a while since I've reported about our progression toward Natalie.

For a while it felt like we were stuck in "paper-chase purgatory" and that we'd never move forward.

Thankfully that all changed Monday.

A long awaited envelope arrived from Lee's Summit, Missouri.  The very last piece of paperwork ~ our provisional immigration approval to bring her into the country ~ is, at long last, in our possession.  Better yet, it is in the possession of our agency.

Finally, finally, we are in the final stretch of dossier collection, only authentication through the Chinese Consulate stands in our way of sending those precious papers overseas.  There still may be a while to wait, but finally there is light at the end of the tunnel.

And so this week I've been allowing myself the indulgence of getting ready to have one more little one in the girl's room.  I've searched the world wide net far and wide to find sweet, little girly sheets,

and a cheerful ~ not too babyish, yet not too big girl ~ quilt set...

...for her very own spot in the room.

one empty bed waiting to be decorated and filled.
(last step of the bunk bed project, a fresh coat of gloss white, to come)

Now just to have her here...

Love the quilts and pillows and sheets. They'll look great on Natalie's bottom bunk. Ian did such a great job on building the bunk beds. The steps are a magic touch. You can sit up there to read to the girls and sit with them until they are ready to sleep. Quite ingenious!

I'm sure she will love them. Those bunk beds are full of awesomeness! Did you have someone you know make them! And how many extra beds will you have left to fill? :-)

Ian is in the wrong field, he could totally go into custom wood working. The beds are magnificent! Now, to fill that lower one...
