today was the day

He started asking when he would get to play soccer again on October 27.

At about 5:23pm.

Did I mention his last game ended at 5:15 that day?

That's 303 days y'all.

An eternity when you are 5.

Finally, finally, today was the day!

Last night at practice (his first ~ we were at the beach when the rest of the team met the first time) he  seemed to be nervous.  Nervous to the point that he stood around and watched the ball instead of moving toward it.  So much so that I actually wondered if we had made a mistake in thinking soccer was "his thing."

But today?

Well, today he showed up for the first game ~ really showed up!

He hustled his little heart out and stayed on top of the action.

the bluejays used great sportsmanship and won the game ~ 7-4
There was no doubt in any of our minds when we left ~ soccer is "his thing."

uh, yeah.  those are were white socks...it was a bit...muddy today...and he LOVED it!
I do believe my soccer mom status is here to stay!
