little miss e

One extra benefit about visiting Grandpa M is that we have friends in the general area.

(LOTS of friends actually.  To spend time with everyone we know and love within a 30 mile radius of Grandpa's house, we'd have to stay over a week and see at least two sets of friends a day in order to see everyone.  Unfortunately we didn't have that kind of time on our hands this trip.  We hope to catch some of the rest of you next time!).

We are blessed in our everyday life to be able to see two of Ky's "China sisters" and one of Caleb's "China brothers" on a regular basis.  Earlier this summer we got to spend a few days with one of Ky's "China sisters" up in Indiana and we even made it to the beach with wee one's China sister just the previous week.  Can you guess who has been feeling a little left out?

What a blessing then that we were able to schedule going to church and lunch afterward with one of the girls DQ proudly calls "my China sister."  Little Miss E may be nearly two years younger than Darcy Q, but it is clear that they adore one another.

For that matter, our little charmer is rather smitten with her too.  He was more than happy to serve her up some pretend cake ~ that came with a side of huge smile...

In addition to having some sweet time of fellowship with E's mama and daddy, we were treated to a delicious home cooked feast ~ slow cooked BBQ pork with all the trimmings.

ever true to form, my crew did their part in putting away some tasty food
Then came the obligatory attempt to get a posed shot of all five of our little ones.  I think we would have been better off letting them continue to play...

There was a fun series of outtakes that would make for an amusing Wordless Wednesday post, here is the most frame worthy of the bunch.

To close our all too short visit, we stopped by the "top your own frozen yogurt bar" in their neighborhood.  Of course it wasn't about needing anything else to eat, we went to see their teenage son who works there.  And of course if you take five kids to a yogurt place...

the adults may or may not have partaken in the sweet treat...
And then all too soon, it was time to load back into the Swagger Wagon.  Even though it was short, our time was blessed.  See ya soon B family!

Darling, darling pictures! What I'm focused on the most is how grown up Daniel is looking. I keep thinking pictures of him are really of Caleb. Not that they look alike, but just that I can't imagine Daniel being SUCH a big boy!!

We sure were glad to have you guys with us!! Miss E is seriously missing all the M6 bunch, and declares DQ is her "best friend." So thankful God has blessed us with such wonderful 'China family'! :)

Darcy looks so big in these pictures. I'm not sure if the little girl she is with is just that little or if I have missed noticing the amount of growing that girl has done! It is crazy!
