They say that you don't notice how much a child grows when it happens right in front of your face.
I don't know exactly who "they" are, but I will say that I believe them.
I mean, I had a notion that our peanut was sprouting. I just wasn't aware of how much until today when I noticed that his favorite firetruck pajamas (the ones that come with a sound effect ~ "Mommy, I wear fire-tuck jamas, go woo-woo!") look sorta like capri pants this summer.
And his attachment to those pajamas got me to thinking that I was pretty sure they had gone to China with us last summer. Searching back through the logged entries from our trip, I discovered that I was indeed correct. And the difference in "my baby" left me nearly speechless...
A few thoughts run through my mind when I see the comparision.
I've got to stop blinking.
I've got to get the kid a haircut.
I've got to get the kid some new firetruck pajamas!
And, I concede with a somewhat broken heart, that I suppose I've got to stop calling him a toddler.

Whatever you call him, he's our "little one" and a darling at that. But what a handsome boy he is now!!
Love, Grandma M
What a change a year makes! It is amazing to me how much they grow and change in a year. I love how you happen to have a picture of him in the same outfit a year apart! We mark off how tall each child is on their doorframe when it is their birthday. Sometimes I am shocked at how much they have grown in just one year.
He sure is a cutie!
Boy he has grown! Do what my mum used to do to my pyjamas and turn the trousers into shorts by chopping the bottom of the legs and sewing a new hem! That way they'll last even longer.
Gracious!!!! Add one more thought to run through your mind when you see the comparison:
"I need to take my kids to see the Ferrills FAST!!!!!" ;)
Holy cow!!! He HAS grown since last year! (And I think it's time to retire the firetruck pj's.) :)
I remember those pajamas in that hotel and the little child who was in them. What has he grown - about 4 inches? He has grown taller and has lost that little baby look. Oh, my!
It's happening all over the place!! Babies are growing up!! {weep!} But what my great grandma, Bess, used to say, "It's just what we pray for. For our babies to grow up." And she's right. Sigh.
Oh my heavens! He's ADORABLE!!! I know what you mean though. I can home late tonight and Justin already had Itty Bitty in the bed. When I looked at him taking up so much space in our King sized bed, I looked at Justin and asked where he hid our baby and who's little boy he was letting sleep in our bed?! It's ridiculous how quickly they grow!!!
If you stop blinking will all the kids stop growning? If so I am gluing your eyes open forever! ;)
Wow! Amazing how they grow so much so quickly! He truly is an adorable kid!
Wow! It is amazing isn't it? But one thing hasn't changed...he's still adorable.
Shocking! Truly! I'm amazed at how quickly they go from toddler to "little boy". And the capris? Kinda cute! :)
