Happy one month forever day, Daniel! I can't believe it's been a month. Maybe this month will usher in sweeter sleep! Proverbs 3:24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
I've used this verse as a prayer with all my kids. Tonight, I prayed it for our new little buddy, Daniel!
Congradulations on your handsome son!!! I need to share with you that I had a very bad event, don't like to talk about it, happen to me during the night many years ago. A year later I found that I could not stop my mind long enough to fall asleep and when I did fall asleep I would wake up with a jolt of pure fear that raced my heart and made me scared.
My mind was set on ALERT after the bad event and would tell my body to WAKE UP in order to protect myself.
I started to get stressed out as night would grow near because I knew that I would be scared all over again...I saw my Doctor after months of not sleeping at night and started on a low dose sleeping aid for a few weeks to get the rest my body needed.
Today I have a system in place to allow myself to go to sleep. I place the phone in my reach, a flash light, and run a fan for noise comfort.
My point is that maybe your little guys doctor can check for a medical problem to ensure that he is not focused on pain when he lays down. Ears can effect your rest also.
This is just an idea, let him show you what he needs to feel safe enough to let go and fall asleep. Maybe he too is scared of the night time jolt of fear that wakes him. I just read your last post and I can relate to what you are seeing with your little guy. I needed to feel "in control" again and by having the "tools" by my bed side gives me the power to control my fear. Just a thought. Blessings-Joy

What a day that was! Praying for his grieving to end. It hurts my heart to hear of his crying each night. May he feel God's comforting arms soon.
