movin' on

So here we are.  Less than 12 hours to go until friends arrive to assist us in moving our personal belongings to our new home.  And I'm excited.  Really, really excited to be going to a house that gives us more space to breathe and grow.  (Cause the four preschool age kids are gonna be teenagers one day!)

And yet...

...it's bittersweet to leave this house.  A lot of living has been done in our family within these walls.  While there have been rainy days that I've grumbled about three active preschoolers and a large dog in 1300 sq ft, this cozy place has been a good home for the M family.  I've learned a lot about what I need and don't need while living here, and I pray it carries over into the next chapter.

More on all that soon, tonight my brain is mush.  I'm so tired that it is all I can do to stay awake.

(Feels sorta like jetlag, and that itself will be here before I know it!)

Signing off from here....

(Ian is waiting for me to finish so he can pack up the electronics.  Internet access won't be switched on at the new house until Monday.  Our social worker comes out for our home study update visit Tuesday, and I've gotta get the house in order!   Needless to say, I'll be offline for a few days)

Moving is always bittersweet, isn't it? We'll be back in the states this summer and in the town where we still own a home. It's rented so we can't live in it but we hope to at least go in and see it!

Good Luck in your move. I couldn't imagine having that many in a 1300 sq ft home....We have two active young boys and just a small dog in a 1300 sq ft house and sometimes I feel like its caving in with all the toys. :) I do love this home though so moving would be bitter sweet. Good Luck on your new journey.

Moving with 3 kids, 1 one the way, AND in the middle of an adoption process?!? You are my hero! Prayers that you get settled smoothly. I will be so excited to see Daniel in your new house! :) Congrats!

I hope your move goes smoothly. I can so understand the small house thing, except ours is a parsonage, so we just have to live with the "togetherness." :-)

We moved from 1500 square feet with three kids and two dogs, and I was OH so ready to move, but whether it's 2 years or 10 years, memories are what makes a house a home. I cried. A lot. Saying goodbye is always tough, but you take your memories with you, right? Now you have another home to drive by with the kids every now and then and say..."Back when..."

Love ya', girlie. Wish I were there, helping you. Funny how a friend's crazy life is always more appealing than your own. :)

COngratulations on a bigger place! We have four kids sleeping in one room (partly bc we're weird--there are two rooms, they just like to stay together--for now) and can't bear to move so we are looking at ... renovation! AAAAHHHH!

Unpacking is awesome. Everything will have a place! it will feel so good! You will know where everything is and that it all stuff you want!
And then you will live there a while.

Whew! Moving is quite a big job, isn't it?
It's good that you can get settled before you travel to China.
Best wishes for a smooth transition!

Wish I could be there to help you unpack. :0) Emma keeps saying, "Ky, bike? Caleb? Darc?" - So sweet. I asked her if she wanted to go play with them and ride bikes and she said, "YES!" with a big shaking of her head. Hmmmm....I wonder when we will be ready to get back in the car again?! Praying for you guys!

Big hugs Kristi! It is bittersweet. I'm now longing for our old, smaller house. I feel so much burdened with our stuff. Hope the move goes well!!!

And have you been to NiHao Y'all??? I think you won a BIG GIFT!!! Congrats!

Awww, bittersweet move. I know when we move one day, I'll be sad leaving the house we brought our children home to. I can't wait until your house is filled with all FOUR kids! :)
