the merry band of cousins

**This post is pretty much just a bunch of adorable pictures of my kids and their cousins.  With all that has been going on in life right now around here, I simply needed  some cuteness to help lift my spirits**
One problem with living here while my sister and her family live there is that our passel of kiddos doesn't get to spend quite as much time together as we would like.  As commitments at our respective churches have kept us both at home on weekends, and pesky things (like kindergarten) for my nephew have interfered with us meeting halfway for a rendezvous on weekdays, we just haven't had our kids together much so far in 2011.  And by not much, I mean that until the12th of March, they hadn't been together at all...

When Ky was planning her birthday party, she asked me, "Mommy, do you think Aunt Cici will bring Pierson and Maylin up to come to my party?  I know it is a long way to drive, but I really want them to come."  Needless to say, she was thrilled when we got a yes!

And since it is over a two hour drive, and that would be a long way just for a 1 1/2 hour party, they stayed through dinner time with us.  It was one of those blissful "non-agenda," sunny Saturday afternoons.  (Check back tomorrow to get a glimpse at who probably had the most fun ~ and the most sore arms...)  The kind that bikes, trikes, and scooters were made for.

They pedaled.

They pumped their legs.

They posed prettily.

They zipped by.

And they scooted.

Whether it is the girls posing for a picture

or the boys being boys

they are a merry little band.

And I just love seeing them together.

Thanks for driving up to spend the day with us guys!

What a precious little group of cousins...isn't it so hard being away from your sister and her family? It's amazing just how hard it is to get together when you are "only" 2 hours away from one another. That's how far we are from everyone, and it's hard. Glad you guys had some time together and I pray things start to calm down soon. Happy Tuesday to you!

P.S. kylie, I LOVE your pink and brown dress!!!

What a fun day that was. Kylie, your party was so much fun to watch. All of your guests seemed to love the gymnastics and the cake afterwards. The warm afternoon was perfect for the five of you to play outside. Was fun to sit on the front porch steps to watch and listen.

Looks like a fun time! We don't get to see our cousins near enough either. We keep moving further and further away from one another. It is always so fun to watch our families play together. I think I am just going to have to plan one soon! :)

Oh oh! I'm so excited to see Kylie wearing my favorite Gap dress ever. LeighAnna wore it at age 3. I'm totally adding brown leggings now that your fashion queen has inspired me!

The last photo is my favorite! I'm amazed how you always get great shots of so many kids. HOw do you get them to cooperate? All that cuteness is definitely good therapy for a sad heart.

Looks like a fun birthday party. I'm pretty jealous of the weather though. I'm not sure if you heard, but it snowed up here today.... :( I want to be where it is warm.

It was a blissful day. Maylin asked if we could go see Kylie and Darcy for lunch yesterday! I hate living so far away!

What fun pictures! Caleb is so handsome... no wonder the girl with the purse is in love with him. The last picture is darling; they all look as pleased as Punch to be together. I can really notice that Pierson has grown 8" taller looking at the cousin lineup.
