One step closer

I thought 'just doing an update' an update on Darcy's home study was going to be so quick and easy.  (For the record, it wasn't).  It took much longer than I had dreamed, BUT as of 10:17 this morning, our update was in a priority envelope along with our immigration application headed to a lock box in Texas.

Here's praying that we get assigned an officer who will process our case quickly.  Because at the end of this paperwork web we weave there is a little boy...

Daniel, you have no concept of how your forever family longs to have you home.  We talk about you every day.  Your oldest sister even thanks me for filling out the paperwork necessary to get you here.  Your brother asks every day if today is the day we will get on an airplane to meet you.  And your other sister proudly tells us how she will speak to you in Chinese to help you feel better when you first meet this group of strangers.

We still have a number of steps between our government and yours before we meet you precious one.  But today we are one step closer...

How smart of Darcy to think about speaking Chinese to him! All of Daniel's friends on the other side of the street are anxiously waiting for him too!

What IS it with NC and home studies?? Or is it Hague? Happy for you, though, that you ARE one step closer to your sweet little boy!

I never seem to get used to all the paperwork - it seems to go on forever. But what a joy it will be to have Daniel home. I will be praying for quick and efficient processing of the paperwork.
