Last Saturday we had to skip our "Daddy makes pancakes on DaddyDay" routine and grab "Chick-a-lay" in the car instead. We were day trippin' to a wedding which meant loading up the van with a pile of library books and kid's dress clothes.
This time the wedding was Pierson and Maylin's "Grandma Ann." We made it across the state about 40 minutes early and had plenty of time to attempt a new family photo. Good thing we had a lot of time. Cause here is what that little session felt like...
I will state for the record that despite what it looks like, Ian was straightening Caleb's tie in this one.
Lots more shots were fired off and we did manage to get at least one pretty good one.
At any rate, this was another wedding for five kids five and under to sit through. I was so busy keeping a close eye on my trio that I didn't get the camera out much. Only after the ceremony and reception were over did I let my guard down enough to try recording memories on my Canon. And even when I did get it out of my purse, I was a little late to the party.
Guess you'll just have to take my word that Ann looked beautiful with her grand kids...
Of course lessons were learned from the last time we tried to keep them all quiet for such a formal occasion, (mostly based on the bare feet incident) so my mom thought ahead to bring presents for them with the promise of receiving them if they were well behaved. You could say that each gift was a hit!
Pierson was obviously thrilled with his new plate set. Traci said he didn't want to use it the next day because he didn't want to get "McCween" dirty.
Maylin wasted no time getting started on her new puzzle. Love that she still utilizes the infamous squat.
Darcy proudly shows off her new "parkle purse." Thanks mom for finding such a "special" one. She's carried it everywhere we've gone since she opened it. EVERYWHERE!
Caleb was immediately totally lost in making sure that Flo got a tow to the shop. I think we could have all loaded into the vehicles and he wouldn't have noticed that we were gone.
And Ky? Well, she's outgrown all her shoes from last fall/winter. Which is just fine because that means that Darcy has a new collection of shoes. Mom knew of the dilemma and bought her a new cute pair which she totally loved. So much that she built her wardrobe for our girls to the grocery (while the boys stay home and watch football together) outing around the shoes.
The look would have been ridiculous on me, but somehow my girl managed to pull it off with style. And we got lots of smiles at the grocery!
Thanks grandma for providing the

Such a beautiful family.
I LOVE the family photo. The first one is funny because the kids are looking at the camera but Mom and Dad aren't. I thought it was usually the other way around...
Great family picture! We have the same problem with shoes. LeighAnna has had to wear her $2 flip-flops to church since nothing else fits. We're short on fall clothing that fits as well, but thankfully this week has been in the 80s!
What a beautiful family picture! Aren't grandma's the best for "special gifts." Matthew will be going/in his first wedding for his Aunt Megs in just 32 days - this will be interesting to say the least :) I see lollipops and cars in my future "bribes."
The wedding shot of you guys is just wonderful! It's sooo good of all of you! And that last picture of Kylie- oh my gosh, that's cute! She is quite the stylin' girl!
Really great pics of you guys. Looks like a Christmas card send out for sure!
Oh adorable! Love that family pic!
AND I love Kylie's outfit! She's got it goin' on!
Love the family picture! You look great!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfit! And yes it does look like Ian is choking Caleb... lol
The family photo is fabulous but I have to say, Kristi, you look absolutely stunning!
Hey now... in that first photo... aren't the KIDS usually the ones not looking at the camera? *grin*
