Jello, bananaphones, and a copy-cat...

I. am. so. tired.

I so want to write about the wedding we attended this weekend.  The ceremony itself was beautiful, even with the "little extra" that one of my kids added.  The story starts with silly bandz, progresses to bare feet, and ends with a hunk of bread the size of Manhattan floating in the communion cup.  If I can keep my eyes open tomorrow night, I'll get to it.

It's just that for the past week or so I feel like I've been run over by a Mac truck.  Ian smiles and reminds me that it wasn't a truck, it was three preschoolers...

Speaking of said preschoolers, I just have to record a few things they've been saying lately.

Kylie.  On our way home from the mountains Sunday (it was 76 when we left Blowing Rock and back to 100 by the time we stopped for dinner about 30 minutes from home ~ have I mentioned it has been hot?) we were discussing where we'd be getting dinner.  Ian was craving Mexican, I was jonesin' for NY style pizza, and Kylie lead up the kid request for Chinese.  When we asked her what she wanted at the Chinese place, she smiled and said, "They have red jello!"

Oh yeah, we're proud...

Caleb.  Recently Ian introduced our kids to Bananaphone.  It isn't uncommon to hear one or more of our kids walking around singing Bananaphone.  Yesterday I had given each of the kids a banana for a car ride.  As we were listening to their favorite kids praise songs CD, it came to Shout to the North and Kylie started cracking up after she had been singing.  I check the rear-view mirror to catch Caleb with his banana up to his ear singing "Shout to ba-na-na phone!  Sing to ba-na-na phone!  Jesus is savior to all and he uses a ba-na-na phone!"

Once again, proud...

Darcy.  Repeating what her brother and sister say.  EVERYTHING.  So that means that we got a repeat of the jello statement.  And Caleb's new praise song hit, "Shout to bananaphone."  And most everything else either one of them has said.  For the past several weeks.

But that does mean that she's picking up a lot of English.  So when she does choose to speak independently of her siblings, she has amazing language skills for a kid who started hearing a new language at the age of three just four months ago.

Yeah, we're proud!

Oh! I love it!!! Caleb must be a pretty bright little guy to "write" a song like that! I just love the things kids come up with! It sounds like you have a reason to be tired in your house. :)
