February 1, 2007 ~ Early in the morning we tossed a few snowballs to Maya and then headed to the airport to meet our moms, my sister, and her husband.

China. To meet our first child.

and then we got an email that our consulate appointment is set. To get a visa approved for our third child.
February 16, 2007 ~ we boarded a flight in the wee hours of the morning from Guangzhou to begin the long journey home as a family of three.
That day I realized that the heart charm from my red thread bracelet had fallen off while we were on our way back. I suppose it was then I knew that part of my heart had been left behind and that we'd be back. I just didn't know how many times...February 16, 2010 ~ We'll board a flight in the wee hours of the morning and begin the physical part of the journey to turn our family of four into a family of five. Hope this little one is ready for the chaos!
Somehow I think she is...Oh, and if you want to know, she'll be in our arms on Saturday, February 20!

And I love that cheesy grin on your face at the airport. It's the same grin you had when we were going through security in Beijing a few days later. It always makes me smile to think how giddy our group was that entire day! What a fun memory...

Wow, those dates are amazing! I love the story of the heart. The same thing happened to me. I'd worn a bracelet for 4 years believing that the adoption of our daughter from Romania would happen. The very week that we decided to adopt Olivia, the bracelet broke. I knew that God was giving me a sign.

God is soooo good. Praise Him. This is like a dream come true. All the waiting and now only two weeks until you leave to get our precious little Darcy! I'm praying that her little heart is ready, that she'll see the love that all four of you already have for her.
