After nap time (while Caleb slept on) Saturday Ky and I were having a conversation about Darcy. She said for what must be the thousandth time, "Mommy, I miss Darcy, when is she coming home?"
To which I replied, "We're getting closer baby, probably right around your birthdays."
And then my wise little one proclaims, "Mommy, I think we should raise some money to bring her home faster."
(I didn't have the heart to break it to her that money wasn't going to speed things up but decided instead to see where her mind was going).
So I asked, "Well honey, Mommy can't paint like Aunt Cici and Daddy can't sing like Uncle Adam, so what do you think we should do?"
She looked at me for a moment with a thoughtful look on her face. Then she comes back with,
"Well, we could sell...umm...cucumbers!"
Man I love this girl's heart for her little sister! Kylie wants Darcy home as badly as Ian and I do.
Anyone wanna buy a case of cucumbers? If only we had a garden this time of year...

I'm in. :)
I'll take some!! How sweet is your little Kylie..
I'll take a case!!! :)
I hate cucumbers, but I'd buy a case if it meant you could go to China tomorrow. :)
Your girl is beautiful, inside and out.
Cucumbers come by the case? I don't think Andrew could eat that many by himself. :)
Aww... she is gonna be such an awesome sister!
Priceless! Yep, we'll take a case and I don't even like cucumbers;-)
that makes my heart happy and hurt all at the same time. The innocence is so precious! I don't want her to ever know the truth of the tough world we live in.
Next time you come to Charlotte bring a cucumber and I'll buy it from her!!! Please. I want her to be able to feel like she has done her part in bringing Darcy home.
Aunt Cici
Oh girl, the innocence of a child! I hope she never looses her cool!
What a sweet child! We'd buy some from her!!
So precious! You will be so glad you record these conversations someday!
