...a lot like Christmas!
This isn't all inclusive, but here's a peek of what this blessed holiday looks like in our neck of the woods.
We've baked,
and eaten
plenty of cookies!
We've examined decorations while putting up our tree
and come up with a few new and creative places to place some old favorites.
Ian and I attended our first pre-school Christmas program to watch our little angel.
They sang a song written by their music teacher, Jingle Bells, and Away in a Manger. Both of my kids have been singing Away in a Manger ever since.
We've been Christmas caroling, just like in days of old.and had our hearts melted by this sweet, un-prompted show of sibling love while we were singing.
We've used frosting to stick candies to a house of gingerbread,
sampled said frosting,
and admired the fruits of our labor in ginger bread house making!Be sure to notice that Tow-Mater has a vantage point seat. He's a current favorite of Caleb's these days...
We've sat in our pj's on the couch and watched our share of Christmas specials ~ this time It's a Charlie Brown Christmas.while the lights on the tree glowed and warmed up the room.
This series of ornaments enjoy a prominent place on the tree. Funny how the trio ended up together ~ they summarize our family. The glass snowflake on the left is the Red Thread legend, the wreath in the center is one we picked up on our honeymoon in the US Virgin Islands, and the one on the far right was our ornament to represent 2009 ~ the year we had the gift of THREE children.
I hope that your Christmas is full of memories as well, but whatever you do, don't overlook that:

How sweet --- the two sharing those moments..the one of the two of them on the couch is sweet. Don't you just love this time of year! I love all the great crafts, traditions, and fun .. and "the reason for the season"!!
Look at how much fun you guys are having!! I like Kylie so much. She is such a sweet and loving little girl! Hope to someday finally meet your family!!
I loved seeing the pictures of the kids and hearing about the Christmas preparations. Are you coming to MD to see Grant? Would LOVE to have you come to Baltimore where, unfortunately, you won't see any McDonald's signs like you have in the Bible Belt.
This time of year is always so much fun with little ones around. If it were not for them to eat all that frosting then I would have to and I sure don't need that!
Merry CHRISTmas!
Amen sister, Amen!
Merry Christmas and let's bring in the new year so we can bring our kiddos from China, home sweet home!
Kristi,
Where did you get the Red Thread ornament? I have been looking for one and can't find one. I love reading your blog and can't wait to "watch" you leave for China for Darcy, I love reading your adventures.
Thanks

Wow, wonderful, wonderful photos! My favorite being the kids snuggling on the sofa watching the Christmas specials. Seeing your kids doing so much stuff... cookies & Christmas plays, makes me even more excited for next year. Merry Christmas, friend! May the M family have a very blessed season!
I'm so happy that our families have shared some of your fun and wonderful Christmas memories. Here's to many more!
Looks like you guys are having fun.

Awwww! It warms my heart to see Kylie with her arm protectively around Caleb's shoulder out caroling and them snuggling on the couch together. Hurray for McDonald's - JESUS is the reason for the season.
Love, LaoLao
Love the shot of Kylie with her over Caleb shoulder. We have the same pj's. Have a Merry Christmas...
