The weekend is over already?

Where does the weekend go? "Daddy Day" and "Church Day" flew by! Overall it was a great one. On Saturday we packed lunches, slathered ourselves with sunscreen, and headed to check out yet another public pool in our area. The only thing that made that part of our day more exciting than having Daddy with us was meeting up with Darby and Henry and their parents, Stephen and C.C.

All eight of us rather enjoyed ourselves and we've decided not to let this be the only Saturday we pass in this manner this summer! I'll let pictures speak for how much the kids enjoyed themselves...

Kylie was thrilled to hang out with "Teven, Miss C.C. (also known as "not my C.C." as CiCi is what she calls my sister), and Dahr-bee," but she was especially excited that "Hen-a-ree" was in the mix as she's now decided that she's going to marry him one day. Sorry Zachary P, looks like we're going to have to meet at the zoo so that she can remember her first love...

Two gorgeous "Lianjiang sisters"

They may not be from the same province, but I consider our boys "China brothers" all the same!
My two really jumping across the splash zone.
Cool shot of the boys.

Oh, and the daddies enjoyed themselves in the splash zone too!

The weekend had other highlights including meeting up with some of Ian's VT friends, Matt and Kelly and their kids, Anna and Hudson to catch up for a few hours as they came through on their way to the beach, our second home study visit, a trip to Goodberry's, and our church "Baptism celebration" this afternoon.

But of course there is a touch of bad news too... I casually asked our social worker how long after Tuesday she anticipated it would be before she had our report written and could send it to our social worker at the adoption agency for review. (I'm praying that we'll be able to get it back in time to submit our immigration application BEFORE we leave for Yellowstone on the 14th). For a second my heart soared as she said that she writes her reports as she gets the information and that she'd probably be done by Wednesday afternoon so that Karla could review it on Thursday before the holiday weekend. BUT (why is there so frequently a but?) that the report can't be finalized until Ian's MD child abuse clearance comes back. Now Ian and I both know that it will be clear when it comes back, but Hague rules are Hague rules and we're at another standstill. The application for this clearance was sent well over a month ago and his VA clearance came back weeks ago. So now we're praying that the MD office gets the form moving so that the USCIS application can be sent before the 14th. I just can't express how frustrating it is to be stuck and have NOTHING that I can do about it. Each roadblock we've come up against makes it less and less likely that we'll meet Darcy before the end of the year and that just breaks this mamma's heart...

For a moment, I thought we might actually meet face to face in front of Old Faithful, but you'll be in Yellowstone 3 days later then we have planned to be there... and we decided to go straight to the grandparents instead of heading north. I'm so bummed.

We'll be praying that things speed up and that Darcy is in fact here for Christmas! Aunt Cici can't wait to spoil her!
Looks like it was a refreshing day at the pool. We had one at Mom's too... Although we don't have a cool splash zone... I can make one if that is what it takes to get them here. All I need is my hands and a bunch of water... I'll splash all day!
Love,
Aunt Cici

I just have to share. We had clearances like that, they were taking too long. We had waited about 5 weeks, so I started calling them daily, it's the job and family services office for each state usually. Once I did, they came that week. Can't hurt to try!

Kristi,
We just got home from a week in COOL Colorado and I've just caught up with your blog. I LOVE pictures. Thanks so much for telling about your cousin, Chad's adventure. I've bookmarked it and plan to follow them. What memories they will have.
