It is March...

...isn't it? Cause it doesn't snow in NC in March ~ but last night the trip from my mom's back here took over 4 hours instead of the usual 2 1/2. (Let's just say that I got my first driving in snow experience. Why was I driving instead of my hubby who used to drive buses for the city of Blacksburg in blizzard conditions? Oh, that would be because he was recovering from the food poisoning that kept him from getting to attend the Charity Ball that we headed to Charlotte for ~ another story for another post...)

Anyway, about 40 miles from home we drove out of the storm and Ian and I both figured that we were going to miss out on the snow action here. But just as we finished unloading the car and putting suitcases at least in the correct rooms for unpacking the first flakes hit. And Kylie, who had only seen one pathetic dusting of snow in the previous two winters she'd been home, has now had two 3+ inch snowfalls in one NC winter. Wasn't it just last month that we laughed with Battle and Shannon saying that our kids wouldn't likely see another snowfall like this until they were about seven?

Ky says,"I love sow!"
My little man rather pleased with himself for finding a ball in the yard.
And Maya perhaps enjoys the snow more than the rest of us!

I wondered if you guys got hit by the snow...we missed out entirely!!! That's okay, though...I'm kinda done with winter. But I'm happy for your kids! Bet they're loving it!

SO sorry to hear about Ian's food poisoning...btdt...NOT fun.

Bathing suits last week and now snow. I love it!

Oh, how I wish we could enjoy some in West Tx. We have had such a mild winter. Except for one pretty nasty ice storm, we haven't really had what some would call "bad" weather at all :0( I guess I'm weird but I love the cozy togetherness that winter storms bring!

I hope Ian's feeling better!

Oh, so this is all Beth's fall for believing the Groundhog? Did she give up Facebook for Lent? I want to see her pictures too. I took a nap instead of loading photos. I hope Ian had another day to recover and didn't have to go to work. It took us a while to get home from your mom's too. I drove about 25 mph...slid once in the driveway and once on the road. I was a bit nervous. The kids were convinced we would never make it home.

Glad to hear you guys made it home safely! We got enough snow for a snow day - but the brunt of it was south of here.
Hope Ian is feeling better & you all enjoy your snow day!!!

This is totally nuts! So many of my friends in the south got snow and we got NONE! All the snow in PA was east of us. Glad you got home safely.
