Big dreams for a little girl

Today while Caleb finished his nap Kylie wanted to try on some of the clothes in the "pink buc-et" (giant Rubbermaid tub) that came from Abby and Shelby. And because these moods don't come too often, I quickly said yes. Today we focused on dresses and skirts because frankly, that's about all she cares about these days.

She'd already had on about 10 other dresses when she came to this one.
And without even looking in the mirror she announced to me, "Mommy, dis dess is for going to my Ti-nah!"
I said, "Oh really, are we going back to China soon?"
She looked slightly exasperated with me and said, "YES!"
So just for grins, I asked her why we were going back so soon.
And she looked quite put out with me (like I should have known already) as she answered, "To go meet my sister! She's two mommy, jus like Ta-eb. Can we go soon?"

After Caleb woke up we headed outside to enjoy the warmth and Kylie twirled her little heart out.

I'm not sure what makes this a "China dress," but the green things on the flowers are ladybugs.

My curiosity got to me again and I asked her about going to China. She told me that her sister was waiting for us and that we needed to go soon. So then I asked her what her sister's name is. Kylie said, "I don't know Mommy, you tell me," so I gave her five choices. Four were names we had chosen for Kylie before we saw her picture and one was the name God has given me in a dream. I'll let you guess which one she chose...

I suppose Kylie has confirmed our belief that our family isn't done yet.

I would never question the wisdom of a child. What a joy it would be to have another grandchild. You all have so much love to give.

This is so great! I just love it -- Anne Marie talks about us going back to China all the time - and I think the same thing.. "maybe she knows something". She's a doll in that dress!

Kylie, you look so pretty in your "China" dress. Grandma wants to go with you to get you sister.
That would be just one more precious child to LOVE! Amazing that she is so certain about it. Scripture tells us that a little child shall lead them. Are you ready for the trip, Mommy and Daddy?!
Love you all, LaoLao Shultz
