On second thought

...I think we'll be getting birdseed for the table next time!
Honestly, last winter I never had to add rice to the table after the initial fill-up ~ now our 25 lb bag is pretty much gone in a week and a half! Having a boy around the house has changed a few things!

Birdseed actually sounds like a great idea! No, don't do it! Your two would have it all over the back yard and Alfred Hitchock just came to mind!!! Thanks for the prayers and encouragment the other day. I have clarity!!!

Even though I am a HUGE animal lover, all I can think is birdseed will equal bird poop! Good luck! LOL!

Uh, yea, hear ya' loud and clear on that one. I don't even want to think about the water that will NOT be in the water table this summer. Boys are just, uh, different! God love 'em! :)

Hi Kristi,

I'm with AWAA (waiting on a TA) and wanted to say how much I love your blog. We followed you to China and fell head over heels in love with Caleb. My son Alex (3) said over and over "pway de movie of de boy in de baftub!" We loved it!

I have learned so much from your posts.

Thanks!

Angela

Julia's preschool class filled their table with shaving cream and boy o boy was that a hoot! I'm guessing that would really be more of a summer thing for the outdoors.

Speaking of bird seed...our house is located right next to a corn field and the birds go nuts when they take the corn off. I could put a ton of seed out but they'd rather have the corn. However, the poo from 475647564 birds does end up in my yard. LOL!

That's hysterical. Maybe you could just dig a hole, get some nice dirt and put that in the table. Then make some of the cars, trucks and construction toys outside vehicles and they could carve out some roads, make a town, build something...

Yep - boys change things (the whole snakes & snails & puppy dog tails thing...)
When my boys were little we had a section of our back yard that had been a mound of dirt (to make a lawn) - before we ended up planting on it the boys had completely taken it over with cars, dump trucks, shovels, you name it. They played there for hours all summer long, were completely filthy, but had a blast!!
