Children's Musuem

Since we've moved here (three months ago today) we've heard a buzz about the local children's museum. Yesterday we decided to go check it out for ourselves. There was so much to do and Kylie and Caleb enjoyed it so much that we used Grandpa's Christmas money to buy a family pass. I have a feeling many rainy days for the kids and I will be spent there playing! Caleb had so much fun that he literally was asleep within seconds of being strapped in his seat and Kylie was asking when we could come back as we walked out the door.

I could try to describe the museum, but I think that some of the pictures of Kylie and Caleb having fun there will be better... (besides, I know that's why the grandmas are here!)

"Let's see if this orange juice looks fresh..."
Shopping in the grocery before taking stuff home to cook in the kitchen.
"I just totally splashed you and Mommy didn't get mad!"
Playing in the water table area.
"Like my new house?"
Adding to the existing GINORMOUS Lego house.
"So this is how you make wood smooth?"
Checking out woodworking tools under CLOSE Daddy supervision.
"No Caleb, the fish doesn't go in the teapot, you put it in the bucket!"
Learning how to ice fish in the Arctic section of the World Gallery. By the way, they didn't have one single skirmish the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there!

"Look what I caught!"
My favorite Kylie picture of the day!
"Would someone mind showing me how these work one more time?"
Intently studying the video of people on stilts in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival section of World Gallery. And yes, he did eventually take a few steps!
"Muh?" I bet Caleb filled up our teacups 100 times at the tea table in the Morocco section!
Kylie trying her hand at weaving a carpet in Morocco.
One advantage Kylie has by not being genetically related to me ~ apparently my fear of heights has skipped her. This "cage" area was over the two story entrance area. NO WAY you would have caught me out there!

And that is only a small sampling of the museum. Many of my pictures were blurred as I was trying to avoid looking like the "Mamarazzi" by not using my flash. Yeah, yeah, I know, I should just accept what I am...

Those are a great bunch of photos without a flash! I love that museums always have great lighting provided for me. the one of Caleb on the "stilts" is especially good. Looks like a really fun time. I wish we had one closer as LeighAnna just can't get enough of those places creatively speaking!

Wow - it looks like the kids (young and old :-) ) had a great time. We have a Children's Museum here in town as well and it's a fabulous place to take the nieces and nephews - the LOVE it and wear themselves out every time. I too ended up buying a pass and it was well worth it. Glad you guys had such a good time!

Anne Marie LOVES our Children's museum here -- but yours looks awesome!! It's a great thing to do in the winter to get some much needed "running" out of the system when it's too cold to go outside!

What a neat museum. I would love to go with you sometime when I am up there. What imagination the designers had.
